Pinto Gaskets

Ebay item 232496018418. Anyone used these "high performance" foam on steel gaskets, are they any better than the Victor Reinz ones that I normally use?

 

Also has anyone any experience of the half moon rear sump seal with the extended ears? Does away with the cork wedges and supposed to give a better seal.

I have only used cometic gasket on aux and crank cover i tried this as couldnt get it to seal with cork style so far so good the holy grail a pinto with no oil leak

So yeah they good

The cork wedges need a spot of sealant before you push them in.

Where the main bearing carriers meet the block is a line where oil seeps out, its this attention to detail that will give you an oil leak free engine

Thanks both. I've never had a problem with the standard type gaskets, I was wondering why they have developed the foam on metal gaskets and the change in shape for the rear curved rubber seal. I thought that the original wedge system woul be easier to seal than this later piece (the red seal) with the extended ears.

This stuff has given me a leak proof C20XE.....thats as rare as hens teeth too.

Not cheap but very effective

Spot of sealant on the wedges. But I always get a wet corner on the rocker cork
