Any thoughts on fitting grease nipples to the inner pivots/bush carriers? Fitted to Florin's 'bones to keep out any water/dampness & lubricate.

Added bonus is if bushes need removing -- place a plain bar though bush eyes & a few shots from the grease gun will force one or the other out with-out damage. Very easy to drift 2nd out then.

What sort of grease are you chaps using with polybushes? Marine grease? Or something else? I know the bushes come with a grease packet but looking for something cartridge/gun dispensable.

Just used what was in the gun --- Castrol LM --- don't think they need grease but my Idea was mainly to keep out water/damp.

There have been several posts in the past saying what a pig to get the swivel bolts out --- due to them rusting?

Thanks for that.

Front upper wishbone jig done, again this one isn't handed at all so will work for both sides.

Quick update, all wishbones now done and I was able to get an idea what it is going to look like.

Now I stood back and looked at this Hood chassis with its wheels on and the proportions didn't look right, I know they only made 8 of these but it just looks very odd. The wheelbase is far too long, I'm talking 9" longer than a Westfield SE, 12" longer than my Robin Hood and just didn't look right at all.

I worked out 6" of this length was in the cabin area alone, even at 6ft I was fully extended and still had 8" behind the seat.

So I decided to shorten the chassis, I carefully cut and internally sleeved the tubes, corner checked my dimensions and welded it back up, I also added additional bracing.

The result is much better, looks correct for a Seven and I'm much happier. The second issue was the rear tub was far too high, sitting 4" above the scuttle top! It leaves me thinking what the hell were they thinking, if left like this it would be a real ugly duckling. Add to that my Westfield rear panel would not fit, again all height related issues, the length at the rear was fine.

So I cut the rear tub and lowered it by 4", everything now fits and looks like it should.

Westfield bonnet cut and widened, clearing the custom intake plenum.

So I made my own design of rear camber adjuster on the top arm, it's basically an eccentric washer between two guide rails and slotted the brackets either side of the hub. Rotating the bolt slides the hub inboard/outboard by 5*, plenty.

On the front I've made an adapter bracket to interface the Escort rack with the Hood chassis, I've positioned it height wise so that I have less than 2mm of tracking change from fully lowered to fully raised wishbones, I'm very happy with that.

Hopefully I will have the full fabrication stage done by the end of Summer and the full teardown/rebuild can begin.

I've started mocking up my body panels which are needing a lot of modification to fit. Hood panels are rocking horse excrement to get hold of, so I am using Westfield scuttle, bonnet and rear panel, all of which are 3" too narrow for my super wide chassis. Everything has been cut and temporarily extended with good old Meccano, and since this pic it has all been fibreglassed. I'm using a Locost nose which will eventually match up with the bonnet.
