Blow By Blow

I have a 2 Litre Zetec Blacktop with a blow from the head to exhaust manifold......

 

The engine came out of Swansea in 2005 according to the bar code...

 

The manifold I believe is Fiesta

 

I'm on my third exhaust exhaust gasket and none fit

 

Any help will be appreciated as usual

First thought ( & probably my only good one ) Are the exhaust studs too long? There is usually a plain shank half way along the stud, if the nut bottoms out before the manifold is tight its not sealed effectively. Maybe a washer or two is necessary to pull the manifold down tight on the head.

Eggcellent thought....won't investigate, will simply add washers... washers are gooood...

Have you used a straight edge against the manifold and side of the head? It is possible that the manifold has been bashed about and not true anymore.
