The VX220 failed mot yesterday on emissions.....and its hardly surprising because once I got underneath to have a look at the after-market exhaust, there is no bl00dy cat installed.

The car is an 03 plate with I think means its tested to Euro3.

Ive bought a 200cell cat with is e-marked and supposedly Euro4 standard.

But Im a little bit worried because Ive read some bits on the web where people struggle to get 200cell cats through the mot.

Now it maybe one of those instances where the more you read, the more conflicting info you get.....so I thought Id reach out to the trusted RHOCaR crew to see if any of you guys have had experiences with 200cell cats, any problems etc.....

2 foot notes - the vx has a really short exhaust system and the cat is immediately after the primaries so it should get plenty warm enough....

Also from looking into this, it looks like most cats you can by for kitcars are 200cell.....gbs sell theres and it is 200 cell and they say it Iva compliant

Mine made it through IVA easily with a 200 cell, and my 1600 was in a fairly high state of tune (in terms of cam duration, valve size, short inlet length from injectors to valves, etc) so I didn't do it any favours.

Thanks Dan - I thought about dropping you a line as I remember seeing you now have a gas analyser.....however discovering the lack of a cat made the emissions problem pretty obvious!

My Focus ST used to pass no probs with a 100 cell race cat!
