Mud Flaps

Anyone fitted front mud flaps to a 7?

Do they make much difference in the wet?

After Friday seriously considering fitting wipers on the inside of the screen

Mudflaps on the cycle wings are a must for any wet driving --- been in a few heavy storms with big puddles & they stop the spray --- in France during a thunderstorm there was more water entering the cockpit from off the rear tyres -- it curled up from the leading edge of the mudguard.

As you can see from my profile picture I use mud-guards made from a set of Sainsburys flexible chopping boards, I now have red green and white ones!!!!!. they make a big difference to the amount of spray coming up to your right elbow.

Just be careful reversing over curbs.

Mud flap trapped between wheel and kerb will detach a lot :sorry:

With ground clearance under the sump of less than 3 inches kerbs are avoided -- forwards/backwards/sideways.

I fitted my first pair made fro HD rubber matting, but they were flat, & blew up when travelling over 30.

I made up a second set, same material, but widened them so they followed the curve of the cycle wing,

& they have stopped everything but B^&*dy French gravillons, which have peppered the rear wings.

I really must re-spray them now.
