I am about to take ownership of a three and a half year old truck and as we plan on keeping it for a few years want to apply some underbody protection.

My plan was to clean and paint the outside of the chassis with a chassis paint and to treat the inaccessible places such as the inside of the box section with waxoyl.

Just thought I would post on here to see if anybody has any better ideas or wants to recommend any products.

Although I like waxoyl I was recommended Dinitrol and have used that. It seems to creep better than waxoyl but also will drip easier!

Check out bilt hamber and buzz weld. I've just used buzzweld on my f150 pick up..good stuff to work with and protection too

I've used Waxoyl at home and have experience of Dinitrol in OEM applications. As Rob says, the Dinitrol is messier to apply but is a better product. For the outside of the chassis I'd personally give chassis paint a miss due to the time it takes to prep the surfaces and put it on. I'd rather go with a good steam clean and then use Waxoyl which you can just put everywhere because it's safe to put over moving parts like suspension components, bushes, handrake mechs stc.
