What did you use to cut the stainless with out discoloration?

Many thanks

I cut mine with a normal, fine tooth hacksaw. I cut as far in to the bonnet as the frame would allow and then finished it off using just a blade with some tape wrapped around to make a handle.

There's quicker ways of cutting, but if your good with a saw, few ways will be neater.

4.5" angle grinder & a 1mm thick disc for stainless steel, provided the disc is kept cutting & not rubbing there is very little heat build-up.

Cut dozens of metres through 0.7--0.9--1.2mm & thicker s/steel without discolouration.

I used an air saw with some decent blades worked fantastic nice control clean cut and no heat build up and very quick too.

As previously said, 1mm cutting disk, but once you've marked out (over tape) where you want the cut, clamp a piece of bar or similar straight edge along the line then you 'rub' along the bar with the side of the disk as you cut.

Plus 1 for cutting disc, let the disc all the hard work dont force just a little pressure almost the weight of the angle grinder will do it
