Number plate rear mounting

When i first had the car it had the spare on the rear. It was a rubbish looking steel wheel so i took it off along with the metal loop under it which held the number plate and light. Luckily I kept the loop in the shed and remounted the light and number plate straight on the back. I can't figure out how to neatly mount it all back. It was a very rough job by the previous owner anyway which i would like to improve on. Does anyone have some detail pics of how their number plate and light are mounted please. The loop is back on fine and a nice alloy on its way. Thanks all.

I put a trailer spare wheel cover on my spare and then made a round panel that fills in the centre that has the number plate light, a square plate and a third brake light mounted to it. It's held on the spare wheel with a bungee strap and has a 3 pin connector for the wiring.
