How to turbo a 2.0L pinto engine

Hi,
Im new to being a Robin Hood owner but what a great purchase it was and I love it.

my question is how easy would it be to put a turbo on the 2.0L pinto engine in my car?. The car already has the twin 45 dellorto Webber’s and the block is a 205. On the block there is chemical metal where we believe it may of previously had a turbo in another car.

Its fairly quick already but if I can add more power for the track without blowing the engine up I’d be happy with that.

does anyone know a list of parts I’d need?

thanks for your time everyone 👍

Depends on your skill set tbh. No off the shelf turbo manifolds so either need to get one made or make one yourself. Other than that it’s easy.

Sell the webers and convert to efi - I have actually just removed an inlet that’s ideal for a kit car as it fits under the stock bonnet from my turbo pinto

fit turbo and turbo manifold

use oil pressure sensor location for oil feed to turbo

oil return to sump

use heater plumbing for turbo coolant feed if required

Plumb boost pipes to intake via intercooler

plumb in boost controller if wanted/needed

run 10-12psi and best part of 200bhp

oh, and not sure what the chemical Metal on the block is about, no need to modify anything on the block to turbo a pinto. Only thing you modify is the sump for an oil return.

Thanks a lot for the valuable information. I will feed this back to my mechanic.
I will update the page as soon as I’m a bit further ahead.

kindest regards
