Area Secretaries.

The current Hants and Dorset Area Secretary Joe Hale (sfx-Joe) is standing down from the role now due to a house move. The Committee would like to thank him for his work and wish him all the best with the move.

If anyone would like to take over as Area Secretary for Hants and Dorset, or indeed any of the vacant positions then please contact me or another Committee member. We welcome applications either both club members or community users. Members can see the vacant areas in the magazine but these are pretty flexible so if you're in an area not listed, or want a smaller area (e.g not the whole of Scotland, Wales etc) this isn't a problem. If you are thinking of starting something in you area, we can get a breakdown on members in the area and contact them to help get the ball rolling. H&D area has at least a dozen members which should be more than enough to sustain a regular meet.

These are roles you can very much put your own stamp on, ideally as a minimum you'd post up a monthly meet at a local venue which is the best way to start getting local members engaged with each other. Any more than this is up to you. There is club funding available for local events and the take up on this is far less than we would like to see. These don't need to be complicated things to organise and last weekend's camping is the perfect example of the sort of think that could be done. The Committee are happy to provide advice and assistance if you want to plan an event.
