Support for rear suspension

Should there be a angle iron or something similar to support these sections of the rear axle? See picture.

That's the rear beam mounts. They just bolt through the flat part of the chassis. You still have the rubber mounts there with the big washers that have a tendency to ground out. If this is a problem, you can remove the rubber insert and weld a flat plate to the rear beam and bolt through a spacer but it's quite a big job to do.
