Hi, not sure if this is in the right place as I've only just started using this...

I have removed the spare wheel off the back of my 2b as it's no longer a legal requirement. If anyone else has done this what have you done with the part of the frame it sits on? Mine currently is just sticking out and it's a bit of an eye sore!

Thanks

You can cut it off but only as far back as the cross bar of the chassis. It needs to remain welded to that cross tube as it supports the diff.

Before chopping off flush with the rear end -- consider that the wheel hoop is possibly protecting the fuel tank if rear ended.  ( which has occurred with Florin )

that's a good point however it's sticks out so far! I could weld the loop back on after cutting off at the bottom of the tub to have the added protection for the tank

I am so jealous about the Robinhood rear tyre hoop. Keep it on, it will be great for spare tyre, tow hitch and extra protection for crash.

Mine has been cut off flush with the rear crossmember and the ends capped by a previous owner, not the neatest job but it is possible.
