Reverse Light Switch

hi

does anybody have the switch thing that plugs into the side of the gearbox for the reverse light going spare?

may be a long-shot but the local scrappies have a shortage of sierras

Is it the bit that is actually attached to the gearbox that you are after? Or the connector with the wires on?

If it is the gearbox side, I have a spare box in the garage that has prob. got he switch in it, you can have the switch if you like.

 

Don't forget, you don't actually need reverse lights for SVA.

Unless you really want them, forget reversing lights altogether.(You don't need them for SVA by-the-way)

That switch is fragile, and is a real pain to replace once the g/box is fitted into the car.

i bought the car already on the road and they have always been on the car (but never worked) and when i had a lookwhy, the reason appears to be that its not actually plugged into anything.

 

it should now be quite easy for me to fit as when we were fitting the new speedo cable (thanks lopsylu) we had to cut a square section out of the transmission tunnel in the drivers side with the angle grinder

so i thought i might aswell try and get the lights to work while i can easily get to it, rather than taking the them off altogether.
