Panel painting

Has anyone painted their own car with something like this? I know about wrapping - tried that, never again! I was prompted by the Overdrive video that Rich was involved in - looks like a pretty decent job for a low ish price?

I'm guessing it depends on the preparation more than the equipment but would cheap kit like this be good enough? I'm not expecting a pro finish but my ally panels are starting to look a bit naff and I fancy a solid colour.

Thoughts?

probably better going to car paint factors and renting a complete set up to do the job properly a lot better finish

Go for it, you know it makes sense. If you put more time in to the preparation and masking, you will gett better results.

If you don't like the end result, you can just peel it off.
