does anyone have the material number of the stainless steel monoque? Thamks.

    I doubt if anyone apart from Richard Stuart will know but a good welder can weld it ok.

    I don't know the grade of the material but it is magnetic which means it is a ferritic stainless with a high ferrous content. It welds okay but is thin and very easy to burn through.

    I realise this topic is quite old.

    My tubes are still marked with original grade.

    Grade 409 / 1.4512
