1600 Needed.

anyone got a 1600 crossflow engine in the back of thier garage, the one in cabinboys new jago jeep, has a definate lack of oil pressure, needs a new heart to pump the oil round.

 

Any offers to get him on the road, pm me if you have one please. got it m.o.t ed today and the oil light came on, it rattled its nuts off on the way back, the person we got it off had disconnected teh oil light switch and filled it with stp ( thick oil).

 

Only done 5 miles from getting it, he's just starting to learn to drive. help appreciated.

Have you seen this link? Bit pricey but they may have a few others knocking around if no-one can find one at the back of their garage!

I also discovered a little known graveyard of old Fords (and others) near me yesterday including some engines, if you PM me I will give you the details - the cars have been stood for some years however.

Ebay is a good place for cheap xflows. but you need to type in xflow,x-flow, crossflow, cross-flow.

 

you will get a whole variety of things, good place to look.

Come on lads, some one must have or know someone with a 1600 cross flow engine, they dont want, cabin boy needs to learn to drive :boohoo: :boohoo: , Ive tried all over to get one. Please look in the garage. Nearer to the north west as possible but will travel if possible

You get 10/10 for effort Micky . i've been round scrap yard and "collectors" today but not found any that are OK (found a couple of knackered ones!)

I think that he's going to have a go at that one you've pointed out Terry. I've no doubt that he'll be on here later.

Decision has been made, surgury will commece on the present engine monday morning, new bearings and crank regrind.

 

We will at least know the condition of the engine.

 

Not chasing any more engine.
