Ignition Switch replacement- Ford Part N0. 8HD 87BB 11573

Featured Replies

I could not find a replacement so I refurbed mine.

With the switch body gently secured in a vice I gently used a punch and hammer to bend the crimps back.

This allowed me to pull off the back taking my time to prevent any springs flying about.

Once apart I cleaned up the switching surfaces removing oxidation and old grease. I also slightly bent the rotary contacts to restore contact pressure.

I then used silicon grease to lube and protect all the switch surfaces and reassembled. I again used a punch and small hammer to recrimp back together.

Job done.
