August 25, 2025Aug 25 Someone is running an ‘L’ suffix registered Westfield in pre 74 competitions and I’m not sure they existed back then? I understand some could carry an older reg of the donor vehicle, but it’s 1400 Vauxhall engined. The Mot history shows it first registered in October 1972, is it likely to be above board and legal?
August 25, 2025Aug 25 Probably not, but a public forum might not be the best place to be going in to too much detail.
August 25, 2025Aug 25 Considering that Westfield Sportscars was founded as a company in 1982 one wonders.

August 27, 2025Aug 27 If you put the L reg into MOT history on the .gov website what vehicle does it come back as? If it's in 'competition' then it's one for the scrutineers to decide if it's eligible assuming the scrutineer ain't his mate
August 27, 2025Aug 27 As you said it’s probably got the reg no. Of the donor car, escort? which is why the vehicle is older than it really is. This often seemed to happen pre Iva etc. sort of pot luck at the dvla.
