Hi all,looking for info please,I have a robin hood 2b,I am.looking to change from the Morgan type wings to to short over the wheel type,,,also hoping to add 15 inch wheels,,,,now,do I decide what wheels I'm.fitting then decide on wings? Or is it wings 1st,I've spoke to 2 different guys n I'm getting conflicting advice,1 guy says I need full wishbone replacement kit,other says just pop onto ball joint,,,,as I'm new to this,,,,its confusing,hopefully someone can simplify this for me,thanks,

You need a variation of these. these are for a sierra hub, it looks like you may have cortina hubs?
I'd wait to fit the cycle wings until after youve fitted the 15 inch wheels.
Take a look on specialist tyre website that give you the rolling circumference of different tyres. you may find theres very little difference between
your 14s and the new 15s depending on the %age ratio, eg 50/55/60/65.

That looks like sierra front end to me.

The clam shell wings keep water out of the car a lot better than cycle wings when going through puddles.

When changing wheels you probably want to keep the same rolling radius so the cycle wings for the wheels should fit on radius.

If you go for wider tires then you might need wider wings.

You also have to check offset, that is how far the mounting face of the wheel to the hub is from the center-line of the tire. This can cause changes in handling.

Wide tires also make the steering heavier. Most Robin Hoods do not have power steering and have a small diameter steering wheel.

The last check is do the new wheels clear the brake caliper. It is best to fit new brake pads before this check as the normal sierra caliper extends furthest into the wheel when fitted with new pads, dont ask how I fund this out😒

Thank you for the info......its a lot to consider,,,,,,,don't get me wrong,I do like the long front wings,,,just think it looks nice with shorter 1s too.....I'm slowly finding my feet as to sizes,widths,n such,,,,learning as I go.......
