Hi everyone,

is anyone planning on going to this show next July?

it would be great if we could get a good number of us displaying our cars there. The cost of a ticket for someone displaying in their group is £9 for the weekend. Camping also available on site  for anyone fancying it, plenty of B&B type accommodation also near by. What is there not to like?

should we see if we can get a number of us there?

let us know your thoughts.

cheers,

Nick

I'll email the organisers and see how many cars we need to get a Club Stand.

I'm up for it, with my normal rider - barring disasters 🤣

Would be good to make a club event of it, if we can get enough folks there I'm sure Al will put a good word in for us with the weather 🤪

Something that I've just noticed, I might have to start calling you Alan, to avoid anyone confusing you with AI - we don't want people thinking that your intelligence is artificial 😆

Only issue I see with this is the cars & club stands are the show, so paying to show your own car goes against my grain as a Yorkshireman, surely they should be paying me to show my car, as without the cars they don't have a show.

I'm sort of with Phaeton in that I think there should definitely be some incentive for us to show our cars but I think it might be a bit optimistic to hope for them to pay us.  A lot of the shows I've been to this year have charged a few quid for display cars which I'm happy to pay, particularly if they have quite a lot going on, or when proceeds are going to charity.

I've just had a look at the ticket prices which are £5 per day or £9 for the weekend if you are displaying your car.  Joe public prices are £20 per day or £35 for the weekend, so it is quite a discount. Beware though, passengers have to pay full price.  There appears to be a lot planned for the weekend so it could well be a good day or two out (weather permitting) and it would be nice to see a kit car show back at Stoneleigh.

LOL, I know it was somewhat tongue in cheek, which doesn't come over in text

But I do think their camping fees are a bit high at £40 with only 28 available, wasn't it just £10/15 before for both Friday & Saturday night when the other show was at Stoneleigh?

I received a reply from the organisers.  This is the relevant bit,

Al

What do I need to do if my club wants to get involved?

Email either simon@carshowco.com or marketing@carshowco.com with your contact details along with a rough idea of how many vehicles you anticipate being displayed by your members. We will then be in touch to confirm all details and allocation of space – a contact will be issued for this space (zero cost) and once signed and returned everything is confirmed.  (I will do this)

Whilst the space is free, we do have to charge a small fee per driver. Any accompanying passengers will need to buy a general admission ticket.

Camping at Stoneleigh

Many of you will have experienced this at previous shows (not run by us) and feedback has been that facilities are poor – and they have been.

We are creating a dedicated camping village with hired in toilets, showers, lighting and security, we also have free nightly entertainment, cash bars and catering outlets – creating a great, fun environment with proper facilities – a Festival Vibe.

There are three pitch options, and these are priced on the website – Standard pitch size is 8m x 5m for a maximum of 6 guests – that can be multiple tents so long as they fit in the overall pitch area. The prices on the website are per pitch for up to 6 people for the two nights.

Camping is available on Thursday and Friday night and again the prices include VAT and ticket booking fee. You can arrive from 5pm on the Thursday and the site must be vacated by 7pm on the Saturday.

Tickets can be purchased at www.carshowco.com/replica

I think they've got the days wrong there Al,                   Camping is available on Thursday and Friday night and again the prices include VAT and ticket booking fee. You can arrive from 5pm on the Thursday and the site must be vacated by 7pm on the Saturday.

Surely that should be arrive from 5pm Friday and vacate by 7pm Sunday ?

I can see what they're saying about providing better facilities and I don't suppose £20 a night is too bad if you stay both nights (there doesn't seem to be the option to for just the Saturday night).

Anyway, I don't think I would camp over as it's only about 90mins home for me,  but I'd definitely be up for Sat or Sun, possibly even make it for both.

Copy/Paste pixie strikes again, it's not actually £20 a night you could get 4x 1 man tents on an 8x5M plot so only £5 a night each, but I have a mate with a garden, a BBQ & a pub 1/4 mile away from his house which is only 15 minutes away

Yes, just read it again, you can have up to 6 people on a plot so it might be a squeeze but it could be as little as £3.33 each per night.  I would also suspect that, as long as you keep within the boundaries of the plot, they'll be happy and won't actually count bodies.

At Malvern last year there was an old boy on a golf cart trying to get people to stay on the pitches & give instructions on where to park cars etc. but he seemed to give up after a couple of hours 🤣

Good.   It's quite somw way off yet so nearer the date I start getting some firm commitments so I can tell the organisers expected numbers.
