Maximum axle weight

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

My name is Bernard and I own a Robin Hood kit car that was registered in the Netherlands in 2004. The car is right-hand drive, so the build probably started in the UK, although I’m not completely sure.

The car was on the road in the Netherlands from 2004 to 2011. I bought it almost four years ago and I have been trying to register it in Belgium ever since. After nearly three years of paperwork, I’m finally close to completing the process.

The Belgian authorities are now asking for the maximum axle weights (front and rear) for the vehicle.

They require this information from either:

  • a manufacturer’s manual

  • a technical document

  • or a brochure/spec sheet

Does anyone here happen to have documentation mentioning the maximum axle loads for a Robin Hood?  Or any original Robin Hood documentation.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Many thanks,

Bernard

Thank you for your reply.

As suggested, here are some photos of the chassis profile and the front suspension of my Robin Hood Sports.

For information, the car is fitted with a Ford Pinto 1600cc engine.

I hope this helps to identify the model and possibly find the maximum axle weight information.

Many thanks for your help.

Possibly a sliding pillar 2B ?

I'll have a look at what info. I've got on the 2B but I can't remember ever seeing max. axle weights.

Have a look at this brochure for the Robin Hood 2B - it might help you to confirm if you have a 2B.

If it is an early 2B then GBS (Great British Sportscars) may be able to help, as they still provide some support for the 2B.
