I am looking for a company who can make a custom gearbox adaptor plate. I have had a couple of places intersted but then communication goes cold, not sure if what i want is too difficult but i am trying to mate a manual Audi R8 box to a YB engine. If anyone could help or know someone that can it would be much appreciated.

I feel your pain, I tried to get somebody to make a Rover K series to a type 9 & got zero interest after many emails, even companies who'd made them previously didn't respond.

Yeah i know, starting to think it will not happen.

That sounds like a pretty interesting setup! Have you tried any local CNC or motorsport fabrication places? Someone who regularly makes custom adaptor plates might be your best bet. Hopefully someone on here can point you in the right direction.

Hi I just joined to ask a question but I saw your post.

If you have CAD data and you want to do a run of them you could try somewhere like Titan Motorsport and Automotive Engineering, but they will be a pricey if you are just looking for a 1off and only want a simple plate cut.

If it is just a simple plate with accurate holes in it do a search for local places that do laser or water jet cutting, but either way you are going to need to be able to provide the DXF file (or at least a CAD model.

Without CAD data you are going to need to do a pretty decent drawing if you want to convince a local manual machinist to do it.

Hi all.

I have had a 3d scan company scan the engine and gearbox, they cut a plate in plastic to make sure it all lined up and all was good. They are now going to machine it.
