Left or right front brake caliper?

Featured Replies

Bought from eBay. Seller insists it is for the side it was listed for but I think it's the other.....

Which side do you think this is for? Mk1 sierra

So that would make this a left hand caliper?

I bought a pair recently. Not eBay. They were also marked for the opposite sides. I just fitted them correctly with the bleed nipple pointing up. Can't explain why they are marked incorrectly.

That's exactly what I thought.  I ordered a right side caliper, which sure enough has a letter R embossed on it but it is a left side.  I thought I was going mad or put my original calipers on the wrong side or something but I've just found a  caliper on autodoc that says it's for the left side, has an L embossed on it but is definitely for the right of my 2b.  😵‍💫

You would also not expect the brake pipe to go in from the bottom, they are usually also on the top or straight into the side of the piston
