 I have got my SVA next week and I have been ringing

around the insurance companies. I can only get cover for 14 days

using the chassis number.

So I have to fix any problems found at SVA and get the car registered in 14

days? :gdit:

Any ideas?

I have found a good quote.

Adrian Flux

Fully Comp

5K miles

42 days on the VIN number

£130

:D Kevin :D

P.S. Roadsure would only give me 14 days on the VIN

that is for a year you Muppet ,

He means 42 days cover on chassi number, then it has to be regstered by DVLA.

So from the day of the test, he can have 42 days to sort out any problems there may be.

And £320 for a year????, who you with Swinton?? :D :p ;) it pays to ring around.

I did highlight this problem about chassi numbers and SVA insurance last year when Paul from Skipton had trouble insuring his for the test, Dont know why there being awkward, but most people pass there sva (including retest) within a month.

But it is something builders need to be aware of

I did my insurance with Gott & Wynne £185.00 for the year 5k miles with to and from work included** ;) . Originally on the chassis number for as long as would have been necessary now moved to the reg No.

** ;) I was told that when a restricted milage insurance is taken out it does NOT cover to and from work unless specifically asked for.
