1.6 Pinto

Sat in my garage is a 1.6 pinto that I bought for a quid off ebay.

 

Im looking to scrap it this weekend, but if anyone wants anything off it they are more than welcome to either swing by, or I can post for the cost of postage. Its a complete motor, less :-

 

sump,

pick up pipe,

fuel pump,

water pump,

exhaust manifold.

 

Apparently the headgaskets blown but it was in good running order before this, but I cant validate this. Its a 165 block.

 

The carb set up is a weber and I have the manifold to suit.

 

Anyone interested, let me know. Im near Glossop, Derbyshire.

Im interested in the carb/manifold. I have a standard 1.8 pinto. So it should get me running.

 

Im in Coventry, so should be able to collect it (if I ever get a spare minute away from this bleeping job)

 

Do you have an Alternator + bracket too?

A 1.8 pinto ??? i only thought they did the rare 1.3 then the 1.6 and 2.0 you sure you havn't got a 1.8 CVH?

they did do a 1.8 pinto, but a 1.8 cvh aswell

Yeah its a pinto. complete with overhead cam and everything

 

(except carb and alternator!!!)

Ah. was the 1.8 produced about the time the company car tax law was changed to trap all those people with 2.0 Litres.

Still don't think I have ever seen one.

I had a 1.8 pinto too good motors

I had one years ago, quite good. From what I remember (sad though this is) the 1.6 had 75bhp, the 1.8 had 90bhp and the 2.0 between 98 and 115 (dependant on age, carb/injection etc).

The 1.8 has the same crank / rods as the 2.0, just smaller diameter bores, introduced around 1985/6?
