  2. I fitted the magic box just to be safe. I remember them checking the fog light worked but not to see if it remained on after ignition cycle

  3. My Superspec wiring nest was like that. I bit the bullet last year, removed the dash and scuttle and rewired the whole lot. A week or two’s work but I now understand the wiring and everything is on separate circuits with fuses and relays.

  4. I did a circuit diagram some while ago --- not sure where it is on here. Job can be done with a relay & push to make switch --- any old relay will do which will reduce the cost considerably.

  5. You are the first person I have heard of that has been failed on this! I thought there was some clarification that it didnt apply the way in which it seemed to be worded, certainly I remember being concerned about it but was told at IVA it didnt apply. Anyway, yes, that box is the solution. Or you could use a VAG rotary swtich for control of the lights and foglights as that is also compliant if you wire them correctly.

  6. This was me 5 minutes before my test was due to start: It was the hottest day of the year (32 degC), I'd just driven through 2 hours of London rush hour traffic, been pulled by the cops for no plate and then, 2 miles from the centre, the heat expanded my throttle pedal pivot bar so that it wouldn't return to off, so engine revving at 3k rpm!! Now THAT is stress !!
