  1. If it's the branch that goes to the hose that ran across the top of the engine to the rad, then yes. That one I put a stop on it and it's not caused an issue
  2. That's good. I did put a blanking plate over the hole at the front during winter and need to take it off now it's getting a bit warmer. That should also help it cool, but sat in traffic it did go up to 98ish. I think mainly due to the plate being in place
  3. What should the running temp be as now I have it running properly I was t to make sure it's right. I currently have the thermostat for the fan set at 90. Is that too high or just right?
  4. I wired in some push switches for the dipped beam and main beams. I have drl headlights which are wired up to my sidelights and are permanently on
  5. When I get home I have a wiring diagram for the focus stalks and send it to you. Hopefully they are the same as the mondeo
  6. With regards to the stalks a focus MK1 column stalks slides nicely on and isn't to big or bulky. They also wire in nicely. In terms of the old loom to a new loom, I went with premier wiring systems and i sent him the stalks and he wired them in. Also the barrel only requires 3 wires to it. If you need the wiring for the barrel I could let you know when I'm near the car.
  7. I don't know is if you had noticed but I had about 1000 posts going at once about my car and then decided to change ECU to see if it was that. Lo and behold it has run sweet since. If only I could change people's brains as easily haha
  8. Well I will be there in ours now it has had a brain transplant
  9. Having recently done a rewire (among alot of other things recently) i found out a couple of things. 1) Ditch the original wiring and get a new body loom and keep the engine loom 2) The fuse box can be mounted inside using velcro on the box to make it quick and easy to access 3) make sure everything is labelled 4) make sure when you have wired in your ECU that the 3 relay fuses also have their own fuse supply as these are easier to replace than the relays as mine were buried. 5) after completing the rewire you can move the ECU to inside the cabin and makes access to it very easy for when you want any analysis
  10. Carbon mods or aerodynamix
  11. Hi guys, Drove the superspec to work and must say it's lovely to be back out in it even in this cold weather. However, as I was driving along a guy pulled out right in front of me and slammed on the brakes and pressed the horn and suddenly had no electrics. Thankfully it was only a fuse but that then made me wonder. I have changed the fuses countless times whilst chasing what was wrong and want to know what are the fuse ratings for all the fuse ratings on the premier wiring loom. TIA

    Rover MEMS

It was the one thing we hadn't changed so decided to change it. The total mileage I did yesterday was around 60 miles and it didn't even skip a beat. It was glorious

I know. Not done a long run yet but the signs are most pleasing. I can't wait for the weather to get better now

    Rover MEMS

Just had the pleasure of getting back in the superspec and boy I had forgot what a pleasure it can be. The new ECU seems to be doing the trick as it hasn't missed a beat, stuttered, popped or even tried to stop. When plugged into the laptop the ATS readings were correct and rose slightly when the engine warmed up as the air filter is behind the radiator. The car is very snappy and the throttle response seems better than ever. It was only a quick drive but I have managed to go further than I have in over a year without being towed. Thanks for being patient with me and the future is looking brighter for the car.

    Etb speedo

Hi guys. Before I take the dash off has anyone had an issue where an etb speedo has set the zero at any other point than zero. Mine has currently set itself to where 0 is around 30. It's probably a simple loose wire but just wondered if anyone had come across this before?

    Rover MEMS

Will know more on that once I get the car a bit more back together. But with how I feel at the moment that could be weekend as still feeling rough. I'll have another check through the device manager when I get back out there

    Rover MEMS

Well installed it in the car and fired up first time. I just can't get the MEMscan to talk to it. I have checked the com port and that all fine. It comes up with the check com port
  18. our scuttle is attached to the chassis and the bonnet just sits on top. When the catches are on the bonnet it holds it all in place very nicely
  19. I know this is a bit late but we replaced the existing dash with a fibreglass one. However we removed the old scuttle and replaced it, but i can imagine if you cut the old dash off and leave on a lip to attach it to it wouldn't be imposssible.

    Rover MEMS

No but the list was helpful. He did a search with some of the information I gave him such as the number on the board and model number of car. From there he looked at what information he has from down the years plus info from people that he knew and was able to find it out. Ordered it one day around lunch time and was there the next day. Just now to fitment but won't get to do that for a few days as currently floored by the flu

    Rover MEMS

Good news. I found out the actual model of the ECU is mkc 101890 and found a company in alfreton called allcar electronics who specialise in rover ECUs. John was more than helpful and managed to find that he had a few that had even been decoded.

    Rover MEMS

Looking at maybe replacing it to see if that's what is causing our issue

    Rover MEMS

Hi does anyone know where to find the serial number for the rover MEMS ECU as it isn't on the outside of mine for my RH Superspec

    Ecu Zetec Blacktop

Could you not get one from a scrap donor vehicle and use that for it in the meantime?
  25. Mine came with that style already but yes they did. With a bit of sikaflex you can also make any unsightly gaps disappear.
