  1. I have the same lights as pintogogo on my superspec. They are incredibly bright and with a carbon surround (D shape) they look incredibly smart and really don't look out of place. my only suggestion would be to get a LED flasher relay so you get the correct flash rate
  2. Yeah. It looks like it is an intermittent fault as I have had the car running on idle a few times and has happened twice now. Probably a loose connection for the rev counter
  3. I also have a discrepancy between the rev counter and the live data of about 1000 rpm. Don't think this is related but if is something that you have come across before
  4. Well I have tested it and can see there is resistance across the terminals which is good. I however do not get 5v on the green black (sensor wire). I have tried it with the original wiring to earth and a new wire directly to negative on battery which makes me think that the earth isn't the issue. What's the best way to repair or replace the sensor wire or could that be an ECU fault?
  5. To get any sort of reading the air temp sensor is disconnected. With the air temp sensor connected it won't allow me to clear the code. It is almost like having a phantom sensor. I have checked against the wiring diagram to pin number and all the sensors are in the correct place. What would be the best way to check the voltage across it? Would it be to cut the wire and put a join in it or would I be best off rewiring the whole sensor wire?
  6. well I managed to run the car today but only got a 3 minute run before the car came to a halt. The plugs were dripping with fuel as the engine came to a slow halt whilst going along. For anyone interested in the file drop me a pm so I can send it to you
  7. It is injectors and the ECU controls it. The crank sensor was the first thing to be replaced as well as a full ignition system (coil, leads, distributor, rotor arm and plugs)
  8. I can have it running for ages when sat still but when a load is applied for a sustained time it is cutting out
  9. i don't have the file on me as its on my mums computer but i don't think there was anything overtly obvious apart from stopping. When i have tried to restart it though it just floods the engine
  10. It has a big hole in it where it was cut for the rover starter motor but would the bolt pattern fit a zetec?
  11. With all the troubles I have had with my rover t series (it will now only run 6 miles before stopping completely), me and my father were thinking of maybe looking at putting aazda mx5 engine in. We know it will need new engine mounts, gearbox mounts and propshaft as well as the ECU that comes with the engine (to keep costs low for now). My question is. What else will I need besides these and a bit of plumbing
  12. Thought it might be. Just wanted someone to tell me so i was double sure
  13. I have just gone to re install my dash after taking it out to look for the battery drain (indicators were on fused permanent live rather fused ignition live). However, I haven't touched the internal light for the indicator and it now illuminates then brightens when it is flashing and stays lit until I turn the indicator off. This only happens on the left indicator but not the right. Any ideas?
  14. I will try to get hold of a fuel pressure tester kit and see what pressure is going through the system. I will also look at replacing the the throttle position sensor as on one of the rover forums they have said that a fault with that may not show on ecu fully but could result in overfueling also
  15. Hi all. I have managed to get the superspec going and running however it is over fuelling and flooding the engine. It does have a persistent error on the internal air temperature which won't clear. Does anyone have any ideas to what could be the cause for either or both.
  16. Had a new alternator on it and done that already so have ruled that out
  17. Hi guys. I have installed a Premier loom into my kit and the battery will be drained to about 10 volts overnight if left from about 6pm. I have found that the headlights and fog lights along with the indicators all work without the ignition being on and will even work without a key. Is this normal?
  18. what type of cat are you running for the MOT. could it be that its just not effective enough at taking out some of the hydrocarbons and CO.
  19. On mine my iat is reading faulty too geordie although mine is stuck at 42
  20. what about restricting fuel flow for the MOT by having a pipe tot he fuel filter with a few inline filters in it
  21. what about tweaking the fuel trim level via mems scan down by about -50. it may not like it but can be tweaked immediately after mot
  22. well i am going to get my uncle to reweld it as he has a gas mig welder and hopefully apply some braces to sure it up. will let you know how it goes as at the moment it is all chained up to hopefully stop it coming further apart
  23. Hi all. After all the trials and tribulations of my superspec not running right I finally got out in it and boy was it good to have her running. So.much so my brother came up from Norwich to have a go. However he went out and had to stop as the bracket holding the steering rack on had broke 2 of the welds and is now bent out of shape. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to make it stronger or to remake it so it wont do the same again
  24. Velcro. Then you can change it quickly haha
