  1. Link didn't work for me, found it here though: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/individual-vehicle-approval-iva-for-cars-help-to-get-a-pass/individual-vehicle-approval-iva-for-cars-help-to-get-a-pass Thanks for the heads up though!

    Speedo

+1 for ETB - they painted the needles blue to match my car too.
  3. I'd interpret the rules as the light on the switch being adequate as a tell tale, but I'm happy to be proved wrong. Just done a quick search in the IVA manual & under Section 33 - Identification of Controls: So I think you'd be ok hth

    Hello Everyone

    Any pictures yet?
  5. Mean's I'll watch the first few episodes, tbh I wasn't planning on it - wonder who else will join him??

    Hello Everyone

Welcome to the forum - hope you enjoy your new wheels

    Wheel Stud Length

Looks like I'll be revisiting these then, thanks for the advice - don't want to stack up a problem for the future
  8. Nah - Rotherham born & bred, just prefer to cook outside that all. I've been know to BBQ in December with snow on the ground before now - mind you that was when SWIMBO was pregnant & couldn't stand the smell of meat cooking so it was either that or I would have had to go veggie - BBQ in Dec it was then!

Wow - was planning on it, but that's a sobering reminder - wouldn't want that to happen Thanks Chris
  10. I know, I know, its a choice no bloke should ever have to make: kit car or BBQ Problem was there was the remans of a corrugated there already, but it was flapping around in the wind so much it kept the kids awake, so getting them to sleep was cutting into my car build time so I had to make the time sacrifice - have I redeemed myself (& we do BBQ several times a week, it's not an event thing for us, just an outdoor cooker)??
  11. Ooo - like that, I've just put conservatory roof stuff over our pergola so we can still BBQ when it's tipping it down, AKA this weekend!
  12. Good thinking  , I'd better look at getting some in. Now I wonder if anyone has a set of these lying around they could let me have:

    Wheel Stud Length

Thanks 2b cruising - I'll have a look at the studs I've got & see if I need to fettle them a bit to make them pull flush
  14. Well it 'wood' be if I ever get it finished (did you see what I did there??) I wonder if it ever gets through the IVA if I can replace the seats with these:

    Wheel Stud Length

Brilliant - thanks Richard, appreciate it . Glad I haven't got to take them out again tbh - had a couple of 'interesting' moments as the car's only on a couple of workmates & there's not much friction to resist the 4lb lump hammer knocking the old ones out

    Wheel Stud Length

Appreciate this is on old topic, but it's relevant to where I am at the moment so hope no-one minds me 'reopening' it. I've just replaced the studs on the back of my Zero & I'm now turning the nuts approx. 10-11 times to seat the wheels to the hubs - is that enough for the IVA? Also a couple of them won't pull all the way flush to the back of the hubs (1-2mm off). I've broken two trying to pull them in enough & has to knock the remaining bit out again & put another one it (fortunately I bought enough to do all four hubs, forgetting I'd already done the front ones as it's so long since I did them - should have checked my own build diary!). Is the studs not pulled flush up to the hubs an IVA fail? Naturally I'll try them again & once it's on the road keep checking them. Thanks in advance Marcus
  17. Don't know if it helps, but this is how I did mine: I put the bond onto the chassis frame & then offered the panels into place. Then rested old sheets of chipboard floor panels on some oil filled radiators then pulled the two board together with ratchet straps. It was rather Heath Robinson, but they haven't moved since (the car hasn't moved either to be fair, but the panels are stuck tight)
  18. I can't make this one (away that weekend), never been to anything like this, but it look interesting even as a spectator. If another one's arranged thought I may well turn up for a look with a couple of the kids. Hope all that go have a good time though

    Mot At Last!

Look really good - you can be proud of yourself!!
  21. Cheers RedTrev, thanks for clearing it up - might have to give some a go.
  22. They look good - do you just put tinned wires in each end & then heat the ring with a soldering iron?
  23. Now they do sound a good idea, I guess they must have been too expensive for the open market
  24. Don't want to spoil anything for anyone going to any of the live shows, but they make a TV show & it's hilarious! (went to the Sheffield show on Saturday)
