  1. Hi I have a sierra based s7 so any s7 owners or anyone else out there who can tell me if the front Vallance if I'm calling it right (the panel the windscreen sits on ) just unbolts from the three bolts each side where your knees are and then lifts off or is there more to it
  2. Hi I have a sierra based s7 and want to fit some adj track control arms but does any one know if escort ones will fit straight on or do I need to buy sierra ones
  3. I use the cube one on my 2.0 black top and it's fine but I bought the original facet one . Beware of the cheap Chinese copy's I use the webcon (weber) combined fuel pump /swirl pot . Less plumbing etc

    Raised Coolant Temps.

Hi it sounds like your fan belt is slipping. So at low engine speeds the water pump can keep up but at higher revs the belt slips on water pump
  7. just a thought but ive just converted by black top zetec to injection and I used the webcon combined swirl pot/fuel pump its the same size as a normal swirl pot and has a high pressure pump fitted and a fuel level trip switch to cut the pump if the fuel level drops due to lift pump failer etc

    Rattling Clutch Fork!

hi I had exactly the same problem !!!! just happened to speak to chris at burton power about it and they do a spring from a mk1 escort that was standard fit by ford back in the day that fits from the bell housing to the clutch fork for this very reason !!!!! and its like £1.25p or something silly
  17. thanks that was exactly what id done
  18. Has anyone else had this ? I took my rear hubs apart to change my drive shafts anyway when I put it back together when I do the wheel up it clamps the rear drum to the back plate so the wheel wont turn ???? the four hub bolts bolt to the subframe and the drive shaft nut just holds the shaft in the bearing carrier so im miffied as to whats happened ?
  19. Hi ive also just fitted a blacktop 2.0 to my S7 after removing a 1.6 pinto I used the GBS pedal set-up but raised it up 1-1/2 inch on its mounting and have used the standard sierra m/c after drilling a 50mm hole in bulk head for the rear of m/c to pass through this means the fluid res sits next to bulk head with very easy access to top ups etc another thing to bear in mind eddis will lock timing to 15deg . I also use a type 9 5 speed and never had to use a gear lever extn as the engine droped straight onto excisting mounting points I also used standard zetec clutch ,flywheel etc after buying the longer clutch lever pin from GBS also you will need windage tray and baffles ( learned this the hard way 2 silver tops later)
  20. hi thanks for all the replys yer log book says s7 but everyone who sees the car says o its a robinhood 2B aint it so im just so used to saying yer I just forget its true name !!!!!! (the senior moments are starting) anyway I have tracking gauges and camber/caster gauges so ill have a look weekend !!!!!! again thanks for all the replys
  21. Hi I have the 2b mono with the front in-board shocks and the handling is just scary!!!!!! the car is just so tail happy ive tried the rear camber up to 0deg up to -4deg neg tried tyre pressures up and down . made front shocks harder and rears softer etc the car just don't inspire confidence !!!!!! An example is a big roundabout approach it at 30-40 mph in 4th and if you even think of touching the gas your going backwards facing the on coming cars !!!!!!!!! I don't have cheap tyres and i,m running a 2.0 zetec with a 3,14 diff for touring !!!!!! so its not like its set up for wheelspinning 1st to 3rd !!! any ideas !!!!!!!!!!
  22. sorry just to clarify I don't mean just bottom of wheel I mean whole wheel by nearly the length of a thumb
  23. hi after reading all the posts about rear camber etc ive looked at my car and noticed that my rear wheel on drivers side sticks outside the wheel arch by about the width of the first tyre block !!!!!!!! the passenger wheel is fully in line with rear arch ? I have measured everywhere checked everything but cant understand why one wheel sticks out and one don't !!!!!! anyone any ideas ?
  24. hi guys / girls not sure if this is in right forum but feel that i had to prase webcon !!!!! i bought the webber alpha engine management / twin 45 set up to run my blacktop zetec anyway a long story short the car car would just not run right !!!!!!! it was really rich on idle and dangerously lean on progesssion then running a rich 9.3 air fuel ratio on crusing !!!! anyway burtons salesman chris spoke to webber on my behalf explaining about the car and how bad it was running webcon took up this challenge giving me a slot on sanspeeds rolling road the following morning explaining that thay had spoken to peter at sanspeed and that all jetting chokes etc would be covered by them !!!!!! after a rolling road session its like a different car, a company like webcon could have just said all engines are different etc and left me to sort it however thay went out of there way to sort my car and i think credit where credit is due i just wanted to say exceptional service from both companys
