    Stay-a-flate

Hi all, I've been looking through the brochure for the new Seat Altea and a spare wheel is an optional extra!!! The car comes with a puncture repare kit as standard!!!! I may do more research when the Hood is near completion to see what it's like and what it is exactly. Might be worth a look for some. Nicko
  2. Hi all, I rang round all the local scrappy's untill one told me the number of a guy with a Hi-ab (spelling???). I rang him, and he turned up 2 days later and took my shell away for free.(Including all the scrap I'd filled it with!!) Nicko
  3. Hi, When I went to RHSC last year for a test drive, there was a guy from Sweden who was collecting a Super Spec. After talking to him and a few others, including Richard, I found out a few things... 1. Richard didn't know the SS was going abroad, the owner's mate had ordered it 2. The van was the biggest the owner could get on the ferry 3. The spare wheel hoop was cut off to get it to fit. 4. The chassis was inside the van, on it's side, when I got there. 5. Richard and Gina helped him where necessary, and when not busy with other customers. 6. The owner was very happy with his purchase, and was taking photographs of the "showroom" cars for reference later. So, it sounds like propaganda to me!!!! Nicko
  4. No probs, Phil's will probably be a better option. Nicko

    Colour Swap?

Hi, why don't you try HERE and see how much it would cost for all new in the colour of your choice. You could then sell the ones you've got to offset the cost. Nicko
  6. Hi, I found the manifold, but it's got a broken stud stuck in it at the exhaust side. The faces that bolt to the engine are black and sooty, but it seamed to run ok on my Sierra (Last driven in Sept '04). If it's still of use to you, PM me your phone number and we can arrange collection/delivery. Nicko.
  7. Hi, I think I've still got mine in the junk pile!!!!(If you mean the 1 from the donor) I will let you know tomorrow. you can have it for free, but carriage may be costly!!! Nicko

    Car Scraping Road!

Hi, Another Hoodie (Phil) told me that when he bought some donor parts from RHSC Richard supplied him with large washers to use instead of the cup from the strut. I'll E-mail him to look at this post, he may be able to explain better. Nicko

    Vacuum Advance

Hi Joni, I had a 2.0 Capri years ago, and the distributor seized, which didn't help. I had a friendly rolling road guy strip and rebuild it. It ran perfect for the next 4 miles, then a Mk1 escort got in my way :gdit: :gdit: !!!!!!!!! Nicko

    Wipers

Hi, years ago I had a sierra that the wipers parked half way up the screen. I seem to remember undoing the conection between the motor and the mechanism, moving the wipers to the botom of the screen, then re-fastening everything. It sounds quite simple, I know! But my memory ain't always perfect!!!! Nicko

    Small Video Camera?

Got mine off E-bay. Under £100 inc. postage. Takes video with sound, and stills. It's made by a company called "Trust". Only thing wrong with it is you can't zoom in on video(or out) This CAMERA is similar to mine. Nicko

    Damper Idea

Hi, I've got a pair of dampers you could have, but I think I may be too far away. They're from an '89 2.0i Ghia hatch. I intend to go to Stafford next month, so if you're there, I could bring them with me. Nicko
  16. Hi, With mine I cut a small notch in the flap for the speedo cable and presumed the flap was for easy access if you need to get to it in the future. Nicko
  17. Hi Nick and Tim, I live in Sheffield as well, in Aston (near M1, J31). PM me and we could possibly meet up somewhere!! I've only just started my build, but inspiration is always welcome, and I'll help all I can too. Nicko
  18. Hi, I seam to remember reading something in a car mag (Max Power or something like that) that there was a company that did alloy stalks, possibly for a Renault 5. Might be worth an Internet search! Nicko

    Efi Starting

    This may help..... ECU
  20. Hi, This is 1 of those jobs I think I've completed. I bought a new tank seal from ford (£2.50), cut about a 4 to 5 inch section from the Sierra filler pipe. Tie wrapped the flexible hose supplied by RH to this then tie wrapped the other end to the filler assembly. The bit I cut from the sierra filler then just pushes into the tank seal like on the sierra. If anyone thinks this will displease Mr SVA, let me know!!! Nicko

    Final Bits

I forgot to remove the seal from around the filler hole in the fuel tank, but they're only £2.50 from Ford dealers. The door seals may come in handy too, my vid says to use one on the top of the firewall! Nicko
  22. Hi Alan, I always soak the bendix ( the bit that sticks out with the cog on the end!) in petrol, then dry it off. Never put oil on it, 'cos it can make it stick. Nicko

    Ignition Switch Position

Mike, I've had problems with ford keys in the past. I've found that quite often if the key is worn it won't turn the tumblers. Usually a new key will work, might be worth a try!! Nicko
