  1. Hi All, Having a bit of a clear out and have a couple of things for sale, as follows... 1) A new and unused stainless exhaust silencer box from a Lightweight kit. The box has two 41mm diameter pipe entries at one end (shown in the picture). At the other end is a 57mm diameter pipe exit. The overall length of the box is 400m and the diameter is 130mm. £10 2) Full set (16) of new and unused Wolfrace wheel nuts suitable for cone-seated alloys. The thread is M12 x 1.5mm, the head is hex 19mm and the nuts are 24mm dia at the widest point. £10 Collection preferred from Hove, but willing to post with usual Royal Mail charges added to the above. Cheers, Pete
  2. Hey Spencer, I found the Robin Hood ones here and they look identical to what you have. Except GBS charge £14 with delivery! Nice tip, thanks Pete
  3. Hi All, Thanks for the reply and the heads up on IVA. I had a look at the IVA manual here and it shows on pages 160 and 161, Figures 1 and 1a, the Side Repeater with an apparent surface from 5 to 60 degrees rear-facing. So I suppose the problem is that the rear wing would obscure the 5degree bit of the requirement, damn them! I'll look into LED ones Pete PS Anyone tried mounting the LEDs elsewhere? Side of scuttle? Wing mirrors? Rear wings?
  4. Hi All, I was looking at the indicator repeaters supplied with my Lightweight and noticed that there isn't an obvious way to connect them! In the picture, you can see two flat, square copper contacts exposed on the underside, but what is the intention for them? You can't get a spade connector on anywhere. I suppose you could solder the wire ends onto the copper surface, but doesn't seem right. Would they push onto spring-loaded contacts in the original application, or something? Any ideas, please Ta, Pete
  5. Don't knock it! Someone on e-bay paid £100 for my set of Zeemers... Pete
  6. Ok, locking nuts are now gone! Anyone up for a complete set of Wolfrace wheel nuts or a silencer box?
  7. Hi Joel, Yep, yes they are! PM me your address and I'll look up the postage cost. Cheers, Pete
  8. No replies from James and Adam to my PMs, so I take it you changed your mind, guys?? Pete
  9. Forgot to mention, I still have an oil pressure warning lamp on! This is more worrying than the engine speed sensor, but I thought it would just go away if I changed the battery and sorted things out. I cleared all the fault codes I could, but the speed sensor one looks genuine and the oil pressure one can't be cleared. The engine has only done 86000 miles, there are no significant oil leaks and the level hasn't dropped. Also, the engine doesn't run smoky or sound bad, so I don't believe the oil pressure fault is genuine. How can I prove it one way or the other? Pete
  10. Thanks for the reply, Bob. Unfortunately, I changed the battery, but still having issues. The fault code reader shows no signal from the engine speed sensor! Gonna have to get stuck in and have a look. Haynes manuals says "very difficult to access" Pete
  11. My daily driver (2000 VW Polo 1.4) threw a wobbler tonight! I got in at 9pm and cranked it. Took a few seconds (instead of the usual instantaneous) to fire, then my dashboard was like a Christmas tree! I had an ABS warning, Check Engine light, Low Oil Pressure and the rev counter was sat at zero while the engine ran! Also, the engine was running rough and was in limp-home mode. Everything was fine up to that point - I passed an MOT last Thursday, drove 700 miles over the weekend, to work and back yesterday, no worries. I tried keying off and re-starting it a few times, but always the same. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes to reset everything (worked in the past), but still no joy. So I got the train home! So what do we reckon? As it seems like such a generalised fault, I thought maybe the battery? It's the original, nearly 10 years old now, but I would have thought cranking would be slow with a dying battery - It didn't sound too bad when I tried it, so you would have thought there'd be reasonable juice in there. Any advice on how long a battery should last? I suppose it is a bit cold and damp tonight, so would show up any problems. I reckon it must be that or the alternator. Cheers, Pete
  12. I sent you a PM, James. Cheers
  13. The fan has gone. Silencer box now reduced to £10 !! Pete
  14. Sorry, didn't read the rules! Have added prices now

Shroud is 360mm by 340mm. £10 3) Full set (16) of new and unused Wolfrace wheel nuts suitable for cone-seated alloys on many Fords. 16. "200+ man hours to build" Try multiplying by ten!!
  17. You mean washers of 19mm OD that fit inside the holes? Good point, I'll have to check my washer collection! Cheers, Pete
  18. Hi All, I'm at the stage of mounting my steering column, but the bracket comes with 2 large holes (around 19mm diameter), so seems a bit excessive to get 19mm bolts! I did a search on here, but not really sure what others have done about this problem. "Put some bushes in" seems to the best I can find, but where do I get such bushes and what have others done?? Cheers, Pete
  19. Just spoke to Richard at GBS and he told me to use an electrical connector like one from this, to hold the accel cable in place. Is that what Zero builders have been doing? Anyone passed the IVA with that? He said to use a Mk2 Escort clutch cable like this , as it has an eye on the end. Is your Capri cable like that, Graham? Cheers, Pete
  20. Hi Graham, Thanks for the tips. I already bought the Granada cable, but I'm interested in this Capri cable. Have you got a part number and/or picture? Every clutch cable I looked at just had the usual crimped end. How long is it between mounting points on the outer sheath, I need about 970mm? Any shorter and it will touch the exhaust, any longer and it will touch the alternator, so has to be bang on! Although if it's shorter, the tube spacer would help. Have you got any pics of your throttle cable attachment before you went floor mounted?? Cheers Any Zero builders got advice? I reckon that pedal arrangement is very similar to mine... Pete
