  1. Hi CMA Its got standard weber carb, Facet fuel pump no fuel pressure reg, new fuel filters before pump and carb (not the one the cames with the Facet pump) I'm at a loss, the only thing That I can think it is is the narrow diameter fuel pipe where it runs through the transmission tunnel. Dont want to spend too much time messing with the carb as I have some zx9r carbs coming next week, but I do want to have this issue sorted, or at least know its the carb at fault before fitting the bike carbs
  2. Well I fited a new fuel pump yesterday and having similar issues to what i had with the old fuel pump. When you open the throttle to mor than half the car pitches and the engie splutters as though it is not getting enough fuel. If you lift off and then put your foot back down it goes again for a little while but then the problem comes back. I have fitted a new fuel filter before the pump as well. I have also noticed that the fuel pipe goes to a thinner pipe after the fuel pump to just before the second fuel filter prior to the carb, could this cause it? Anyone got any ideas????
  3. Decisions decisions…… Do I stick with the original carb and get the engine tuned now I have the new fuel pump, or do I go all out and by bike carbs and manifold and get the engine tuned for those……..

Can you add a pic of the seats?
  7. Hi Andrew Yes I have an aligaitor bonnet. Need to somehow fit a better filter/plenum that will not foul the bonnet. Not good as I think there is only 45mm clearance and most of the plenums I've looked at are 55mm+ Simon
  8. I have been giving this a lot of thought and I dont think there is enough clearence under the bonnet to fit a plenum - will have to get the tape measure out and see. I know the pipercross filter that is 45mm high nearly touches the bonnet and the plenums are 65mm high
  9. Thanks guys I was thinking of taking the easy route and getting the K&N Filter that sits straight on top of the carb and cutting the bonnet to suit, Now you have given me even more things to think about. This tinkering isn't as easy and straight forward as i thought, especially for an IT geek who has no real mechanical knowledge DanE Your suggestion has given some food for thought! Simon
  10. Guys looking for suggestions for a new air filter for the 2B. At present it has a pipercross KK300 fitted but its not got much room to get air in as its tight to the bonnet. I dont mind cutting the bonnet, not that I have the tools to do it, but I will give it a go. Im looking at a K&N 56-9107 to get more air into the carb. The car was rolling roaded today and it wasnt good. Initial run gave only 74BHP After a bit of tinkering this was taken upto 93BHP. but there were fueling issues as the fuel pump seems to be on the way out. New one ordered and should arrive this week. Then it will be back for another rolling road session! Want to sort out the air filter too so that it can be setup for how it will be for a while or at least until I get bored and find some bike carbs Any help guidance is greatly appreciated Simon
  11. A man walks into a bar with an ostrich and a cat. He walks up to the bar orders a pint for himself, a vodka and coke for the ostrich and a brandy for the cat. The barman serves them and says £10.50 please. The cat says “I’m not paying that!” The man pays the barman and they drink their drinks. 5 minutes later the man orders the same round of drinks, they barman serves them and asks for payment. Again the cat says “I’m not paying that!” The man pays the barmen and they drink their drinks. This goes on all night and finally the barman calls last orders. The man orders another round of drinks, then barman severs them and asks for payment, again the cat says “I’m not paying that!” The barman gives the man his change and asks “what’s going on here chap, every time I say how much the round of drinks costs then cat says “I’m not paying that” So the man tells him “On my way to the pub I saw this lamp in the hedgerow, I rubbed it and this genie appeared. He said he would grant me one wish. After a bit of thinking I asked for a tall bird with a tight pussy – this is what I got!”
  12. Hi Everyone, Hope you can help me, my kit currently has a 10" mountney steering wheel with boss. I'm wanting to adapt this so that I can take the stering wheel off to get in and out of the car easier. Also may make it easier for a man of my stature to get in and out of the car when the roof is up although I havent tried it yet Cheers

  16. thanks for the replies guys, I was thinking of making it to a 2l if i do get it - will know more by Tuesday evening. I have checked the numberplate with DVLA and it says its a 1600 - may be a little under powered for a chap of my stature!
  17. Hi I've been looking at a robin hood 2b that is for sale in Walsall and have finally got in touch with the seller - hopefully going to go and have a look at the car on tuesday. here's the like to the advert: http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/robin-hood-2b-kit-car/1020414852 When I spoke to the seller I asked for clarification on the engine size as it says 1600 in one part and 2L in another. He said it was a 1600 with a 2L head - can anyone explain to a none mechanical person what this means and if it is a good thing buying this car? Thanks in advance for your answers Simon
