  1. As we have Donington this weekend and the National Meet at the end of September I don't intend to arrange a formal September meet. Although if we get a lovely day during the month....... But put a note in your diary for the 5th October when we have been invited to display our cars at the Corby Glen Sheep Fair. The organiser saw us all at the Castle Bytham Fair and asked if we could come to his fair. For those that were at Castle Bytham it is similar but about half the size (smaller village). I've already warned him if the weather is bad the turnout will be poor. And bearing in mind I have now managed perfect weather for the first 6 Lincolnshire meetings it has to break sometime !! Al
  2. Just follow the signs for kit cars. Last year the girl on the gate told me where the RHOCaR stand was.
  3. A good day at the Stamford Car Show. Only 3 of us beat the deadline but it was nice to see Derek there as well, even if he was banished to the car park Pete and Richard cars both looked good, making mine look decidedly scruffy (in my defence I only got from the USA 36hrs before the show). What made it worse for me was I was put between an immaculate Corvette and an equally immaculate 1936 Auburn Boat Tail Speeder (probably the most photographed car at the Show) . So I will be appearing in lots of photos but in the background Have to get the polish out for the next one

    Help!

I just use jubilee clips. Seem to work fine.
  5. I'm still suggesting a 'circular' route of about an hour For the campers a 3-hr+ round trip to Matlock is quite an epic at that time of night and I suspect you may have already put off any Saturday-only attendees from the South from joining in ? But I will come along whatever
  6. Get some Superspec ones, they are just over 9" wide and cope with 205 tyres.
  7. Just a thought on the route, as many of us will be Donington campers it really should be a circular one ? Even for non-campers I guess they don't really want to end up miles away in the wrong direction. And not having camped there before, will there be any problem getting the cars back in to the site long after closing time ?
  8. Pity. sorry, didn't realise there was a cut-off date. See you at Donington.
  9. Can't offer any technical expertise, but if you need an extra pair of hands..... Only went for one day last year, wondering about doing 2 this time. What's the procedure with camping on Saturday night ?
  10. Richard said he only just made the deadline, but I can't find any date on their website ? Hope you get in, will arrange a meeting point next week.
  11. They are on my Superspec. It was one of 4 in a Fuse holder. I suspect yours are different so it's just a case of checking each one.
  12. Yes, Oxford Blue seems to be the right one. I had a brand new wing manufactured and it was a perfect match.
  13. Hi all I gather there were 10 people and 7 cars at the July meeting at the Muskham Ferry and the weather was great (again ). That sounds like a perfect number, enough cars to look good and few enough people so you could talk to everyone. Pity I missed it. Thanks to all who supported it and to the Notts team for their additional support. As for August, I wasn't going to organise a meeting as I am not back till the 22nd and we have Donington at the end of the month. But I just realised that the Stamford Car Show is on the 24th. Pete Lee and I have decided to go there, and anyone else is welcome to join us. So we will call that the nominal 'August' meeting If you are interested you will need to register at http://www.stamfordr...vents/car-show/ it's nominally free but they suggest a £5 donation to charity at the entrance. Closer to the date we can arrange to meet up somewhere so we arrive in convoy. Please let me know if you wish to come with us. Cheers Al
  14. You will be passing within 4 miles of me then, your welcome to drop in for a coffee and compare notes
  15. That's up to 38 now (I had found Steve in the garage). Could you both please confirm engine and gearbox type, original Rover T and MT75 or something new ?
  16. I've added quite a few more to the list (forgot to check the Garage section of the site). Now runs to 37 owners, unfortunately none near me Must be a lot more out there but they obviously haven't seen this forum. Decided not to make it generally available just in case anyone objects (although the details are on the site for all to find) so if anyone wants an up-to-date copy just PM me.
  17. http://www.stamfordroundtable.co.uk/events/car-show/ Application required but it is instantly done online. Technically free entrance but with suggested charitable donation of £5. Pre-show run out also available.
  18. Are their any Superspec owners out there who haven't had a broken clutch cable ?
  19. Very close to home for me. My eldest son was the manager of the Northampton branch. Not one of the 33 they sold, so after 2 weeks working for KPMG he is out on the street. And of course they timed the closure to be just days before the end of the month so no-one gets paid for June. Fingers crossed he can find something else fairly rapidly.
  20. I'll second that. Mine snapped because the 'Tricky Dicky' method of attaching the cable puts a sideways strain on it and an unnatural curve. Once the mounting was changed so the cable is free to move transversly, no more problems. (Still have a spare in the boot of course). All discussed at http://the-superspec-journey.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/the-clutch-cable.html
  21. Where did it snap ? If it was at the pedal end how do you have it secured ?

    Tool Kit

Luckily my wife refuses to ride in the car so I can use the passenger footwell for all that

    Tool Kit

See http://the-superspec-journey.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/one-of-major-projects-was-to-improve.html Totally over the top and I will admit be to being rather anal-retentive about it. But my logic is that if I carry all this kit I will never need to use it. The day you leave the house without something is when you need it.
