  6. On the sierra if the rubber insulator on the gear lever is removed it will rattle HTH jon
  7. To be on the safe side use a dolly or a front end lift HTH jon
  8. The metal part of the pad does not seem to be fitting properly onto the caliper. and the disc seems a lot thicker on one side Think wrong calipers or disks HTH jon
  9. Think it has to be 17 or 19 mm rad on bottom edge of dash.Cut plastic or rubber tube or hose.(only one cut ) Cover with vinyl or the same covering as the dash slot or glue on HTH jon
  10. Best bet is hammer and chisel. There's enough plug sticking out to use a chisel, give it a few bats from one side then a few from the other, trying to unscrew it anticlockwise. I've had quite a few to get out, but it,s not easy to get at. HTH jon PS if you get it out, get someone to weld a big nut onto it so you can get a spanner on next time
  11. My garage is only 9ft high and its got a 4post lift in it leaving about 4ft under the car I just use an office chair to move about under the car. Changed G/box Engines Diffs everything you can think of in that space I've seen a shallow pit under a lift to give a bit more space you can pick up a lift for £300 to £500 HTH jon PS get one where the hydraulic ram does not go through the roof
  12. Lots of cars: Pre-war Classics Commercials Motorcycles and anything Interesting. Hoping for quite a few Hoods and other kit cars. Be there before10.30 to get onto the field been to the last 2 shows its very good Hope to see you there jon

  15. THe cause can sometimes be tyres. Try swopping front ones left to right HTH jon
  16. Tried to draw attention to this coupling before, but no one was interested. Any steering shaft that is not splined or is not welded, cannot be safe to drive. It is an accident waiting to happen. Dont know how they passed SVA or IVA. Tightening onto a round shaft will never be safe. jon
  17. Get the engine hot and get a mirror and a light Then have a good look around the pump and stat you will need to remove the t/belt cover. better if you can find the leak HTH jon
  18. What oil are you using, a slightly heavier oil may give a bit more pressure, Is there no knocks or rattles, and where is it leaking from? jon
  19. Florin We can only but try Hope its OK jon
  20. Florin I think the steel centre you removed locates the nylon gear in posision. This can be removed from the oppisite side of the box by prising out a top hat type of cover. If its too high to get at, it might pay to refit the steel centre with half an inch cut off so you can still use the blank But it means the nylon gear is still in mesh with the steel drive and not lying loose HTH jon
  21. Florin Is the nylon drive still in the box jon
  22. If you get a washer the same dia as the outter cable and weld a tube onto it to cover the speedo drive coming out the g/box and seal the end of the tube. Then clean around the hole in the g/box with a petrol rag fit the new bit and seal with silicon. I know its a bugger to get at, some cut a hole in the tunnel. HTH jon
  23. If the tyre is flat you will need a very short jack,You could always drive onto a wedge shaped bit of wood 4ins high then the jack might fit under the bottom arm. HTH jon
  24. My insurance company did not send renewal terms, which they are supposed to do 28 days prior to expiry. I was going on holiday and could not wait till the last minute, I shopped around, as we are all advised to do, found a good quote and accepted it. When taking out a policy some companies ask if you want auto renewal, my insurance company did not, so they had no right to take it. This is probably why they agreed to a refund. Bit suprised someone can half condone this practice. jon
