  1. For some reason I cannot attach a picture of the boss I already have, its 1MiB in size as well, will see if I can get one uploaded.
  2. Evening, Seems like such a daft question but could someone help me with whats required to get my steering wheel attached to the car please as I am losing the will to live. Perhaps its just me but I find it very vague on exactly what is required! At the moment I have a standard Sierra wheel and column working and attached to car. I have purchased a replacement OMP wheel, which has 6 holes in it at 70 mm PCD (from that I read pretty standard). I already have a Mountney Steering Wheel Boss which I purchased from GBS three years ago, at the time I think they may have sent the wrong part but I cant remember. It is part number SB110 from Springalex and it is 100 mm PCD. I would like a quick release steering wheel. What are my options? Does this for example attach to what I already have? https://www.kitspares.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=699&search=quick+release OMP also make what the call a hub package but trying to find the right one is proving difficult. Thanks!
  3. Perfect, Darlington is even closer - will definitely keep and eye out and get myself to at least one of them. Relieved to have passed its torture waiting on the paperwork
  4. Hi Alan, don’t think I’ll be able to make this one (unless Mr Postie sends me a surprise V5 early next week!) Are these monthly? I live in Stockton-on-Tees and have recently passed my IVA, waiting on reg documents. Cheers, Dan
  5. Yea I just read all those posts I think you already have the answers but my examiner did check the wipers and their function carefully, several times including the washer jet. He checked to make sure nothing went pop (assume fuse) when he restricted flow from the water bottle. He also checked the radius everything, special attention to windscreen mounts. I have fitted a demister which was tested, although not thoroughly (do they work).
  6. Thanks! That’s literally the perfect reply, will have to read that post in detail as it looks like an interesting one.
  7. On the IVA form under CO2 (g/km) it says N/A. Looking here: https://insidedvla.blog.gov.uk/2017/03/27/new-vehicle-tax-rates-how-motorhomes-kit-built-and-multi-stage-build-vehicles-are-affected/ It says it will be in the PLG class if no emissions on the IVA, which means £265 a year (https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/rates-for-cars-and-light-goods-vehicles-registered-before-1-march-2001) Sound right? Thanks, Dan
  8. Evening, Is anyone able to advise? I will try contacting the DVLA tomorrow on my lunch but thought I would ask here first. One of the boxes, number 4, asks for an amount of tax payable. I have checked the DVLA site and can only find https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables and that is asking for the CO2 emissions and it states this might be on the IVA form; I have checked and it isn't. Do I need an exact figure or am I able to use the same as other people use? Engine is a 2.0 Zetec. Thanks! Dan
  9. Very happy, car passed second time round. Had a right faff on getting speedo to register correctly, it was the gap between sensor and bolt. luckily the examiner had allocated plenty of time for this part as we knew it would be difficult and he has the gear to safely test. Result! Very happy
  10. Yea I thought it was odd but thought I might have been missing a trick.
  11. Feel like I have been spamming the forum recently Hopefully another easy one, headlight adjustment. How are the stock GBS lights adjusted? The IVA guy asked me the question and I didn’t know for sure; I assume they pivot, which I can do by just moving them. But do they move on both axis e.g up/down and side to side? May seem like a daft one but I have searched and can’t find an answer. Thanks, Dan
  12. Yea done exactly that, works a treat. I’m all set for IVA Monday, if the weathers nice I my even give her a polish
  13. Thanks, will do if the solution I now have doesn’t pass.
  14. Luckily the symbols clip off and on so I’ve swapped them round
  15. You did but I didn’t understand your answer lol. I caught up in the end
  16. Thanks everyone for your help - nothing like a last minute panic before IVA day! Solution is to swap the horn and fog switches around. Horn has already been tested and I am assuming a latch switch will be fine for horn anyway. If not I will hopefully wing it as I am on a retest only.
  17. Yep definitely the switch, if I use the horn (monetary) it works without issue!
  18. Unfortunately I have spotted the problem (maybe?) the version I have says “this is for a momentary switch”. The savage switch I have is not momentary so even thought I don’t understand, I guess that is the issue.
  19. Same result when I wire it off the chassis loom. I have: pin1 perminant 12v, to battery terminal pin2 to yellow wire on box and pina on switch pinb on switch to ground I have tester going to red wire on box to simulate light switch Black on box to ground Result is exactly the same as if the box wasn’t there! Fog light lights up again if I switch the lights off/on.
  20. Have taken aux panel, battery and half my garage tools into the living room to try and crack it
  21. Hmmm I can’t get this to work. Using the standard Gbs fog switch and chassis loom does anyone know which wire connects where? ive followed the instructions and it should work however it doesn’t, the box makes no diffferece
