  1. Thats what I wanted to hear. Thanks
  2. I am about to start fitting brake pipes & the easiest (& cheapest, because I can make them at work) option for me is to use braided hoses all the way between the master cylinder & calipers. Would Mr IVA be happy with these or does it need solid pipes & short flexi pipes at the end? Rich
  3. Rivets only temporary, will be tidied u & then welded on.
  4. I'll try & get some photos tomorrow.
  5. Reading the iva manual I cant see anything other than the 100mm ball test & as these are flush it shouldn't be an issue. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong?
  6. Dzus fasteners fitted, much neater than ugly iva rubber straps
  7. I had the same issue & all I could find was complete kits for about £100, so I've gone down the route of rear discs using focus calipers (discs are the same as sierra), that way spare parts should be available for a lot longer.

  9. Just found these...if they're good enough to hold the bodywork on an F1 car I'm sure they might just be good enough for a RH
  10. Hadn't considered dzus type fasteners....must get some out of the stores at work & give them a try!
  11. What have people used for bonnet catches other than the horrible rubber IVA ones like CBS sell (obviously I need them to be IVA compliant)? Rich
  12. Vacuum connection points are usually on the top of the inlet manifold?
  13. Good job you said that as I knew one side was smaller (thought it was the drivers side & I measured that side)
  14. Which seats have people used in a 3A (I believe it's narrower than most with a wide transmission tunnel)? I saw a few at Stoneleigh with Cobra ones, but the only Cobra ones I can seem to find is the FIA historic @ £500 each!!!! (I'm wanting buckets with harness slots). Thanks in advance Rich
  15. Mine is heading for the bin & another plus is that will probably save me a few kilos
  16. I read somewhere that there about 17 different master cylinders fitted to sierras
  17. Hopefully these photos will upload, one shows how big it is compared to other items in the engine bay & the other is a close up where you can just see no4 exhaust (which is actually touching)
  18. I'll try & post a picture tomorrow (don't seem to be able post one from my phone). I'm planning on coming to stoneleigh, but my only concern with that is how much it's going to cost me
  19. I'm in the process of building a 3A (was started by someone 20+ years ago & has sat since). It was fitted with the sierra donor brakes, new discs etc at the front, but most of the rear missing so I've opted for rear discs to make it a bit more up to date & possibly a bit more stopping power for the heavily modified 2.1 pinto, but now comes the problem, the master cylinder (servo) which was used is huge as it fouls the exhaust manifold & the reservoir fouls the bonnet & there is not enough movement/space to relocate it. What do you guys recommend? I'm assuming a non servo master cylinder, but do I need duel cylinders (front/rear) or is there an easy proven route? Cheers Rich
  20. Iain I tried to pm you but it said that you cant receive any new messages (guessing your inbox may be full)? Rich
  21. As the title says I am after a cheap as possible inlet manifold for my 2.1 pinto. Hopefully someone out there has an old one sitting gathering dust in the back of their garage? Thanks Rich
  22. Message understood, I was just looking for advise as to the best place to buy one. I will sign up & put a wanted add up Rich
  23. I did see that as one of the cheapest, also Peter Lloyd Rallying has a similar price but with o-rings & studs included so I guess that's about the bottom price really. I don't want to cut the bonnet (don't like the filters/trumpets showing out the side), but because of the spec of engine I have (ex race engine with a very lump cam etc with a high rev range) a longer manifold would be better to bring the torque curve down a bit.
  24. I'm looking for an inlet manifold for my 2.1 pinto, but prices seem to vary massively. Has anyone got any recommendations as to the best (& cheapest) place to buy one Rich
