  1. I have to agree with everyone else that it is not required. MR IVA TESTER will check that the chassis is stamped. And that you have a manufactures plate fitted showing the correct details. As IVA Manual Statutory Plates 18 In my case I made up my own VIN number and submitted it on my application Form IVA 1C NO further action required by you to have it checked.
  2. Peter I stamped my own number on the chassis. You are not being told the correct information, On your application form IVA 1C it ask's for the VIN number at question 3a (ii) At question 3b Position of stamped VIN on vehicle. Your date of manufacture question 4b Is the date you submit you application form. Do you have a manufacturers plate fitted as sample below:-
  3. You have the brakes designed for a 4/5 seat saloon car that was quite heavy loaded. The front of our kit cars is very light so the front brakes are going to lock up very easy. It is more the driver learning how to brake in a very light front ended car that has little weight to hold the front wheels down on the road. Need I say any more, practice light braking and apply less foot pressure, we don't have ABS and driver aids, just common sense.
  4. The image is taken from a friends wiring of the doner loom so I would assume that your wiring would be the same. You can clearly see the flasher unit hanging from the harness in the picture so follow the 3-core wires back to the main loom. So where was it located before you found it? Think you have a little bit of water ingress!
  5. If you can trace the wires from your light stalks then you should find a 3-wire circuit with a triangular 3 pole plug fitted that should have the flasher unit fitted as behind the dash board. Hope that helps. Not in the fuse box. It should come out the loom at about the same point as the brake light switch wiring.
  6. Depends what switch you have maybe. On mine with ignition switched on you switch head lights on then the left lever controls as:- Away from you Main Beam, Centre position Dip Beam & Pull towards you Flash Main Beam. Without ignition switched on only side lights.

    Engine swap

Question do you mean a Zetec or a Vetec as you have changed the word on a regular basis? What gearbox is the S7 engine got fitted? The Zetec is fuel injection in the S7 so the ECU would need to be changed also. The 2B on ebay is also Injection but not the same ECU. and I am sure would have a type 9 gearbox fitted.
  14. As (madh) said there was never a B2 the car was called the 'tubey' by staff and the 'Project 2B' was adopted as the kit name.

    Alps in July?

Thanks once again for the video, what an adventure to have a drive like that. Question for you what camera mount are you using as I would like to get the camera and mount with a couple of batteries, Has your gear lever always been that loose just wondered if the spring is not holding it firm as I see you holding it quite a lot in your driving.
  16. Having just got an MOT pass for the next 12 months and a car that has the Zetec engine then why would you wish to change. Do you have great difficulty getting in and out or is the fit to tight for your comfort. The 2B on ebay has an alligator bonnet not lift off like yours some people like it others don't, the choice is yours.

    Alps in July?

Once again a well put together video, how could we get bored with views like that. Just wondering when that big dog is going to pass you on the road started at 0.09 sec's and have not seen it yet or was that the lovely road you where travelling on before the St Bermard Pass.
  18. Car 2B that should be the same. Top of windscreen to C/L of roll bar 42" to back of car 68" I am sure that was the dimension that Richard of RHE said that it should be in his video's.
