Having to consider put up my Robin Hood 2B up for sale due to the new London ULEZ rules. Specs: Engine: Ford Pinto SOHC 2.0 Cam: Kent Ultimate Road (KCGTS1K) Carbs: Dual Weber DCOE 45's Exhaust: Simpsons stainless steel exhaust. Milage: currently says 10000 but have had a major overall of the engine only about 2000 miles ago. Runs on super unleaded but can run on normal unleaded. I am not the original builder but I have loads of building manuals and recipets form when it was built. Recently had a service with new oil and filter, drained and refreshed radiator coolant and has an MOT until 2024. Registered as an actual Robin Hood and on a ‘D’ plate not a ‘Q’ plate. It was been tuned on a dyno in its current condition and is making 140hp. (Have the print out from R.A.C.E.). Additional items: Full wet weather gear with Hood and Doors. Bike rack for the rear (if you want it) Spare cycle wings and new brackets from GBS – just didn’t get around to fitting them. ETB instruments to replace the Escort dash. (Tacho, speedometer, Fuel, Oil, Water) Various spares (like piping for cycle wings), fuel filters and others that I have replaced. Some things that need work: Some spidering and cracks in the fiberglass. They are small and cant see until you are close up. Small scratch on the windscreen, which should be able to be buffed out. Left cycle wing bracket needs to be replaced as broken a few times and rewelded. (have spares to do it.) Stone Guards have a crack and needs replacing (have a sheet to replace them with the parts) The Cam is almost run in and could do with checking the gaps in the lifters. Its been a great little runabout and never broken down on me and I will be sad to see it go, but I cant justify the constant cost of taking her out whenever I feel like it due to ULEZ. Hi, I want to change my top wishbones for the ones from GBS. The pack I am looking at is the double wishbone handling pack as it includes the top wishbones and the front cycle wing bracket. However my car has a non standard setup (see attached) and would like to know whether thr mounts on the chassis are standard and will fit the wishbones or whether they were part of the non-standard setup. Hi all, I would like to replace my current exhaust as the manifold is very rusted and I think the silencer sounds like it has a hole in it. Or take it somewhere to get a new custom version, although I have heard a few horror stories of people who dont know what they are doing. I had thought on splashing out and getting simpsons exhaust to build me one, but the lead time and cost is something is making me think twice. Does anyone have any advice on what they have done ?

Hey all thanks for the replies. I ended up taking out the spark plugs and gave them a clean and then checked all the leads etc plugged in correctly. Also checked the distributor cap was on the right way and she fired up as you can see. She was a bit stuttery when I took her for a run but after some redex and good blast she is running quite well again. I think the next thing I will do is put her on a dyno and tune the webers. Good to get back out and rolling again.

thanks for the reply, while testing orginally I thought the same thing so I put in about another 10 litres of fuel as I thought she might just be out of fuel. but the video was taken after I added the fuel and checked that there was fuel coming through the hose to the carbs. Both hoses had good pressure to each carb so I ruled it out. I think I will try Foz's suggesstion and check the spark and timing as it seems to be the thing I havent gone through completely. the really confusing thing for me is that it was running fine after I cleaned out the carbs and replaced the alternator belt. Anyway will keep you all posted as I am itching to get a good blast in soon.

It was running about 3 weeks ago, but I didn't take her for a run. But It was having an issue after getting an MOT When she was bogging down and losing power. But I think this was due to the webers needing a clean which I did and was running fine.

Hey all pinto masterminds, can someone please help me with how I can troubleshoot why she won't run. I have checked the following: 1. Fuel is getting to the carbs 2. The points and plug leads are on correctly and can see the spark. 3. Tried to make sure the carbs were clear with some carb cleaner and manually checked the jets. 4. Ran some easy start into the carbs, but wasn't happy with blowback it seems to create. I have an engine builder that helped me get the heads, cam and webers setup a year or so ago. But he doesn't do house calls to help. Can take a call if someone is available to help. Dale 20210405_162538.mp4

So after a couple of hours of trying to get it work after I took it off the column I bought the new part and should be here by the weekend. And for information its all relay based. Thanks to all who replied

Thanks Ian wd40 was my first attempt and it didn't do anything... as if I saw even the slightest improvement I would have gone for the contact cleaner and persisted... but I think Rich is right I will bite the bullet and just get a replacement and hope its not an issue further in the system. Just curious what do you run? as I have seen various methods in other cars from stalks to having a button for everything.

Hi all, hoping to consult with the RHO brains trust as I just had an MOT failure for a headlight switch that doesn't dip from high beams to low beams. I checked the issue over, and it seems that the switch is sticking when the lights are turned on and they don't dip anymore. It's currently running this column switch and indicator stalk https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiesta-Mk3-Stalks-Steering-Column-Indicators-Lights-Wipers-Washer-Control-Lever-/224311646974?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 And if I need to replace it, I would like to know what options other people use as i don't mind using a different version and would like to change the horn from on the stalk to a button on the steering wheel but as it failed MOT I only have 10 days to fix it. What would others do in this situation ?
