  1. Thanks everyone. It is now sold.
  2. Thanks @richyb66 and @nelmo I was worried I didn't get the value right. It is also listed on ebay now https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124285080783?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  3. Sorry, been a while since I've sold a car! Here are some other details Built in 2002 with F reg Sierra donor. MIleage: 70897 The speedo needs replacing for one that is calibrated to the gearbox, the cable works!
  4. Robin Hood 2B For Sale. Price £4000. Interested in offers and advice on the valuation. I am selling my Robin Hood 2B as I am being given another car and I can’t afford to run 3 cars or have 4 cars on my drive. It is running a Pinto 2.0. It has Bike Carbs fitted and is MOT’d until October 2020. Approximately 1 year ago it had the following done by a local specialist mechanic: new head gasket and related gaskets (thermostat etc.) new distributor cap carbs were taken off, ultrasonic cleaned and balanced Passenger side bottom bush of the suspension was replaced. Seats removed and refitted on a custom made mount. It has also had fitted: It had a Malpassi fuel regulator and filter fitted with new fuel lines all the way from tank to carbs. New radiator with fan from Coolex Radiators. New battery All electrics work, but they could do with reorganising and tidying up under the bonnet. If you want pictures of anything specific before viewing or making a trip to view then DM, text, or post a comment and I’ll post the extra pictures into the comments. I am going to be advertising elsewhere within the next week or so and I am interested in approximate valuation too. Thanks Nick
  5. Hi All, My 2B failed its MOT on lower bushes for front suspension, defective item circled in this photo: https://photos.app.goo.gl/CeSkUJcVCTzJn6qo8 I am trying to find replacement bushes - can anyone identify if the front suspension is from a standard Robin Hood offering or kit, or some other type? More Pics: https://photos.app.goo.gl/5qGME3qfUNCaNeSm7 Edit: I have found this: http://nw.rhocar.org/parts.htm but I think before I start ordering parts, I need to work out if this is a standard RH2B suspension setup...it looks different to many photo's of other 2B's as I am researching and trawling the internet Edit 2: Found this link: http://nw.rhocar.org/identification.htm looks like my variant is this: 2B sliding pillar. Both top & bottom anchorages are fixed, and the hub slides up & down a shaft. Can anyone else confirm?
  6. Hi everyone. So issues are fixed! Here is a run down... So fuel pressure regulator helped a bunch, new leads and spark plugs too. I took it to a local guy who works on old cars (even back to ~1930's stuff). It ended up with: a new battery (just to be safe). Carbs cleaned in a ultrasonic cleaner, reassembled and balanced. New coil Head removed, two exhaust valves were slightly bend (1000th), others weren't seated properly. New head gasket and bolts new cover gasket new timing belt ignition timing done. Now it runs perfect like a dream Thanks for all the advice!
  7. @kevin the chicken I’m looking for new harnesses, and I take my kids in the car sometimes. Did you ever get a new set of 3 point harnesses? Which did you go for? Thanks Nick
  8. It’s already registered but I’d like it to stay in line with IVA standards. I’ve put some penny washers with lock nuts for now. Penny washers are currently 25mm The floor is 3mm. I’d say I’m on the chunkier side haha I’ll try and find a plate to 100x100x4 that I can use and update. Currently with bolting through the 3mm there is a bit of movement
  9. This was exactly the problem, the pipe fro inlet manifold was perished It’s back to “normal” I.e. needing a tune up, balancing and timing
  10. Update: Fitted the new fuel filter/regulator after some simple tuning (2 x 1 quarter turns to increase pressure) the cutting out when hot stopped, and it started first time. Still a slight misfire, at this time I was putting it down to timing that will be sorted by AB Garage when they look over carbs and ignition etc. This afternoon, I go to get a T piece and pipe from my local industrial gauges shop to hook it into the oil pressure gauge from the pressure sensor, drove there, stopped at my dads to show him how good it was running; even he was surprised. Fitted the T piece and oil gauge at the shop and drove back; again no problems. Tonight, I get in it to just go for a drive with my son and I get a squeaking noise which sounds to be from the inlet, the idling is very lumpy, even when driving it is very lumpy. Then I'm about to pull up and I've lost hydraulics on my brakes. I had to increase the idle setting on the carb to stop it cutting out, and if you give it some poke there is a load of back firing and flames from the exhaust. So, fix for the cutting out when hot: Fuel Reg/Filter, New plugs and leads New symptoms: No hydraulics on the brakes - consistent - brake pedal doesn't go to the floor, just ineffective braking. It'll be parked until I figure this out, I'll check over it tomorrow for leaks and the obvious. Back fire with flames on lift off after some poke Occasional Squeak even on consistent revs/running
  11. Thanks all, I thought it was best to check before I put the seat back.
  12. Hi All In order to get into an access panel (and to expand the access panel) to remove the silencer mounts (one of 2 broke, so replacing both), I noticed that the seats are just bolted directly through the floor. The floor looks like 3mm thick. Is this right, or should there be some reinforcement? The seat belts appear to be bolted through the chassis so I think they are ok. Thanks Nick
  13. Thanks all, I have changed the leads, plugs, fuel filter (I had already bought it!), added filters on the carbs - it is idling better, but still struggling to start when hot. After rooting around the engine bay, the carbs are Keihin VP: https://photos.app.goo.gl/5svSeTysd9So5EDJ9 I have still got to get into the fuel pump and get that part number! @Snapperpaul I have ordered the Malpassi filter, should be here mid-week so will get it fitted by next weekend. @steve in stockport @Longboarder I have booked in with AB Garage for mid-may, I don't feel confident enough to play with the carbs myself. I also noticed the crank case breather is original and the end of the pipe hasn't been connected to anything so I'll be fitting an oil catcher. Thanks again for all the pointers, I'll post back as I get through all the bits and pieces.
  14. Update: today I changed the leads and plugs. Still to do: dizzy cap, ignition timing and all other suggestions Pictures of plugs, assuming cylinder 1 is closest to driver. Certainly worth changing but looks like it’s running rich? cylinder 4 https://photos.app.goo.gl/pSYJPuf7AybhYKPt7 cylinder 3 https://photos.app.goo.gl/tc5fcZV7Cku77BZYA Cylinder 2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ua1sZYbxfDtwL3qv5 cylinder 1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/8RkRW2d499VDprYSA
  15. Thanks All. It's quite daunting when you get an issue like this and not familiar with the setup so all these pointers are great! I'll check all the items mentioned and provide an update when I've got through them all - it'll be a few days as I'm doing this around work too.
  16. Here are some photo's and video's. I apologise in advance if any terminology is wrong! I went out today and it started cold first time like a treat...but when it was hot, same issues. Photo file sizes are too large to embed unfortunately, but hopefully the higher resolution will help. But I will check and report back on this!
  17. I will get some pics in the morning to try and answer all the questions. Thanks again for for all the help. Very much appreciated! I managed to get it back ok. I got stuck in a 2 mile tail back on the M6, I kept the revs up but even at 2k RPM it felt like the engine was getting flooded (started to splutter) and it needed a good rev to clear the spluttering. Anyway, thanks again, will get back with pictures tomorrow.
  18. Thanks all, will replace fuel regulator, then distribution cap, rotor arm, leads and plugs then look at tuning. Hopefully I can make it 50 miles home in its current form :S Thanks again for all the advice! I only just picked up the car too.
  19. Thanks. Does anyone have any recommendations for carb tuning? I’m in the north west (Southport).
  20. Hi, new to the forum and the club (typing on phone so sorry for typo). Just bought a Robin Hood 2B with 2l pinto engine. It looks like there are a few issues and looking for some advice or pointers. 1) When running if I put my foot full down the engine splutters, is this normal or possible overfueling? 2) When idling it’ll run for a few minutes but eventually splutters to a stop. Perhaps carb need tuning? 3) It takes a few turns to start which ends up draining the battery very quickly, to the point I can’t start it without a jump. Has anyone had previous experience of this and suggested fixes or perhaps suggest a better suited battery to go for? thanks Nick
