Hi All,
Went out for a little run in the sun today and noticed the car running a little hotter as the drive progressed.
Got home, and noticed a little puddle of coolant under the car around the rear of the engine.
Once the engine had cooled down, investigation found a small leak from the thermostat housing (90 degree bend to upright) to engine flange - it's the gasket that has started weeping!
When I replace the gasket (will get some gasket material from work tomorrow), is the general consensus to use a sealant on either side of the gasket / just use the plain gasket or alternatively just use sealant?
Sealant won't be normal silicon, i'll get the proper stuff from a motor factors.
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Al
