Hi Bob, The adjacent light never gave me trouble, but then again I didn't need to find my handbag in the dark! But from memory, it was a bit gloomy after sunset as not much light from the adjacent source penetrated the portaloo wall
  3. Google BD Engineering at Newington (they are on an industrial estate just off the A2), not a million miles from you. I found them great for setting my emissions, another member had a nightmare with them

That's useful Bob, but a simple request from Lana (and for other ladies I guess) about the stinging nettle free bog option... Would it be an idea to fit a light (solar??) so that 'ladies can find their handbags in the dark?
  5. I think there is also a right angled adapter available to fit onto the gearbox. The cable then connects to the adapter This eliminates the sharp radius 'bend' of the cable at the gearbox end. The adapter is a bit pricey I think, so it may be an easier/cheaper fix to work out a large radius bent to the gearbox Can't help with specs for the adapter as I went electronic gearbox sender/ETB speedo

If anyone doesn't fancy towing their caravan/tent/wigwam to Bob & Mo's estate, there is company about 15mins away from Bob & Mo that hire (& deliver & collect) caravans. Those that were at Stoneleigh know Lana & I used this type of service from another company and it worked really well. I'm sure Bob wouldn't mind a few more 'vans on the Fry estate. It would mean that you could stay being social by not having to be at your B&B before lockdown! Here's their web address, sorry but for some reason I can't insert the link. www.tilshead-caravans.com By the way, I have no connection to Tilshead Caravans

  11. I've just looked at the spec's and it seems good for 200 degrees. As you said, a thin smear and this should prevent lumps from breaking off. Thanks for the heads up Richard
  12. That is sort of my thoughts Richard, gasket smeared with some sort of sealant
  13. That's discrimination and i'll be writing to my MP! Oh, hang on - he's still under investigation by the CPS for election fund 'issues'
  14. Hi All, Went out for a little run in the sun today and noticed the car running a little hotter as the drive progressed. Got home, and noticed a little puddle of coolant under the car around the rear of the engine. Once the engine had cooled down, investigation found a small leak from the thermostat housing (90 degree bend to upright) to engine flange - it's the gasket that has started weeping! When I replace the gasket (will get some gasket material from work tomorrow), is the general consensus to use a sealant on either side of the gasket / just use the plain gasket or alternatively just use sealant? Sealant won't be normal silicon, i'll get the proper stuff from a motor factors. Any thoughts? Cheers Al
  15. Richard you should only post pictures after the 9pm watershed. Looks lovely

  20. £6 Al - a good result!! And tidy fix to boot.
  21. It does sound like condensation caused by hot vapour from the breather causing condensation in the can. Bit like a dehumidifier. It's strange that once the can gets hot the water doesn't evaporate off though. It might be worth conducting the chemical test using indicator fluid (just to confirm that there is no exhaust gas in the water). Indicator fluid is available from Frost Auto. Supercharged air is colder (through intercooler if fitted) and hence is denser and in damp conditions could this carry more excess water vapour that is 'dropping out' (condensing) in the can? It'll be interesting to see the difference in 'dryer' conditions. Or am I barking up the wrong moon???
