  1. A concern I would have about using a plastic bottle would be whether the plastic is compatible with power steering fluid, i.e., would the fluid degrade the plastic? At least with a proper reservoir, this isn't an issue I suppose there are smaller reservoirs out there
  2. Can I bagsy the wiper motor if still available Richy? Cheers Al

I don't do anything lightly Bob!
  4. Hi Al When I had my Rover engine, I solved this issue simply by fitting a Rover (200) power steering fluid reservoir, sourced from a scrappy (you'll need the mounting bracket as well - makes things very simple), to the 'L' shaped cross-member in front of the engine. This had the correct sized pipes to/from the pump. Fluid level is easily checked, and importantly it worked very well & was quite simple to fit. The thinking was that the fluid vents into the reservoir anyway (flow to the pump/return from the rack) and is not under pressure. Cheers Al

Best cookies perks Bob is the banter on the stand. Mind you, sometimes there's so much smoke from the BBQ I could be talking to anybody or nobody :drinks:

A minor technicality Richard . If the road was open we could have driven along the harbour road

That'll be cool Joe. If you want to make some concentrated noise, I can recommend the 'new' tunnel under Cliffsend going towards the harbour. Had 5 kits going through there last summer, a glorious sound , so good we had to back through it!! Be good

  18. Bob, I worked for VW/Audi for 7 years and like all large international brands they are very image conscious. Their worldwide reputation was tarnished immensely over the emissions fiasco . They would not issue the resolution unless it was 2000% with no effect to driveability, economy, etc etc. If the resolution fails, then the damage to the brand name may well be irreversible. If you are concerned about the resale value of your car with the modification, then to play devils advocate, what would the resale value be without the modification? As others who have the modification completed have said, they have seen no effects, so if I were in your position I'd go for the modification. You'd get a warranty on the parts/modifications fitted and possibly use of a free loan car (if you play your cards right) while yours is under repair.

    Another Sad Loss

Kicked off a train at Ramsgate eh Bob? Now there's a coincidence! It wasn't the old paper train was it - cos I bin there and done that a few times in the 80's - but then again I lived there!
  20. Second what Bob says - Merry Christmas to all and hope you all stay safe. Thanks to the emergency service personnel who are working over the festive period - here's hoping you have quiet duties
  21. It's good to read you are out of hospital & back home Terry - make certain you get spoilt but don't milk it!
  22. Bloody Hell!! Glad to hear you're ok & the Big Man upstairs was looking out for you. Do you think the damage to your car will polish out? Hope the van driver gets the book thrown at him. All the best for a speedy recovery Terry

    Tool Box

Purchased the Halfords Professional roller cabinet and top about 10 years ago to replace a Clarkes unit that was falling apart. From what I remember it was in the January sales ex-demo and I still got a trade deal with my Trade Card.
