  1. Al Milton

    Trailer

Bump. Before it goes on E-Bay
  2. The sun is shining, a gentle breeze here on the coast. Any more takers? If so, see you at Beechcourt Gardens, we'll probably be leaving there between 0900 - 0930. See you all in a few hours.
  3. Gents, we'll see you all at Beechcourt Gardens tomorrow. Have been promised the sun will make an appearance eventually!!
  4. No problem Bob. Will you really be on the side line when you have the chance to whizz around with the grandkids in go-karts? Is there a law about demolishing a 99 while driving?
  5. Like the thinking Bob, but there's a petrol station near to Dover docks.
  6. Hi Darren, I purchased these around 6 years ago, cost was approximately £320ish for the complete set (including a 'C' spanner for the adjusting nuts). Has probably gone up a tad since then!! Cheers Al
  7. Stephen, it would be good to see you & catch up on Sunday, but understand if the weather is iffy. We won't be at the coast at 0900, we'll be starting roughly halfway between Canterbury and Maidstone, so not as far to travel early in the morning! Names so far: Al & Lana Bob T + 1 Ken Bob & Mo Richard & Anne Stephen & Lesley (possible) I'll PM everyone my mobile number, just in case of any last minute hiccups. Cheers Al
  8. Or buy my trailer: http://www.rhocar.org/index.php?showtopic=44149 Fill trailer with full fuel cans = Plenty of fuel without having to rely on our striking European neighbours Plus plenty of room for cheap wine etc on the return
  9. Hi Darren, GAZ adjustable shocks all round. Front shocks 130 open, 090 closed B12 Front springs 1.9 x 8 x 300lb Rear shocks 170 open, 110 closed B12 Rear springs 1.9 x 10 x 300lb Someone with more knowledge/experience than me may suggest other shocker/spring combinations, but this combination was recommended by Dave at Dampertech and has worked very well since fitting during the build. I don't take my car onto a track, it's a comfortable tourer that handles nicely for my style of driving. Hope this helps Al
  10. As long as there's no string vests & braces to go with the knotted hankie Oh, and definitely no socks & sandals either Could this be the inaugural RHOCaR knobbly knees contest?
  11. I think I've spotted the error. It appears you are still using the 'original' Zeemeride shocks, but just changed the lower mounting bracket. The difference is that the Zeemeride shocks do not have the metal insert in the bush, hence the use of the 'special' bracket (effectively a tube with either end flattened & drilled accordingly. The new brackets you have fitted are for bushes with the metal insert. When you mix the 2, (old shocks & new bracket), this could be what is throwing your suspension alignment out. I fitted new Gaz shocks to mine during the build, with a similar lower mounting bracket & have never had alignment issues - I ensured the shock was clear of any chassis obstructions by the use of spacers (washers). Hopefully this shows in the attached pics: Front Shocks.doc Apart from nut covers, this is how mine was presented for IVA I have the details of the shocks if you want them for the future
  12. Excellent Richard, even colour coordinates with your car Does anyone else require a likewise vehicle modification from the seaside before we meet??
  13. A pleasure to do so Richard, Names so far: Al & Lana Bob T + 1 Ken Bob & Mo Richard & Anne Any more takers? Al
  14. Nah, I think Rich must get his ear hair trimmed though........
  15. +1 for what Bob says Ken. Got a slightly tomato coloured head after a blast out once the new garage door was fitted today
  16. Rich, your engineering skills never cease to amaze me. Very very impressed. You're not thinking of moving further south are you??
  17. Echo Ken's comment Richard. I hope the MOT Gods are smiling on you as it will be good to see you & Ann on the Bucket & Spade run. Keep us posted. Cheers Al
  18. Hi John, that is a bummer - let us know if Tony will be coming so that we can keep an eye open for him. Names so far: Al & Lana Bob T + 1 Ken Bob & Mo Cheers Al
  19. Ooops, just had an accident........ That is one beautiful looking car Terry
  20. Had a chat this afternoon to the chap from ROMMCC. We will be welcome at the Bucket & Spade run (there are no vehicle restrictions). Date Sunday 5th June. Anyway, no need to fill out the application form as it's too late to be included in the program, just turn up on the day. Cost £5. We're to tell the chaps that we are the Robin Hood Owners Club and they'll set us off together, oldies (cars not people Bob!!) go first, and they'll ensure we get to park together when we get to Government Acre in Ramsgate. There is a pre-determined route to get to Ramsgate through the Weald of Kent, directions are given. Teas & bacon rolls are available from the start point, Beech Court Gardens: http://www.beechcourtgardens.co.uk/location.html We have been asked to start congregating between 8.30 & 09.00 with a view to getting away shortly after. There will be fish/chips/ice cream aplenty when we get to Ramsgate. If you fancy attending, put your name below so that we'll know who to look out for on the 5th June. Forgot to add, (Lana reminded me), to identify cars on the run, a plastic bucket & spade (like the sort you built sandcastles with as a kid), should be displayed. A builders bucket & garden spade are not ideal, but would be worth seeing in a 7 though!! If you are attending & can't get hold of said plastic bucket & spade, then let me know and we'll bring you one along to keep as a souvenir. I'll start the ball rolling: Al & Lana
  21. Still haven't heard anything back yet. If nothing by tomorrow, i'll give them a call. Bob, at the seaside, there's all the fishychips & ice cream you can cope with!! We'll bring some bibs & wipes for you just in case though.....
  22. Hi Ken, Yes, that would make it Sunday 5th June. I don't know about the format as to whether it would be individual entries or a club block. But I would suspect, looking at the entry form, it would individual entries. Am waiting for a reply from them as to whether our cars qualify, and will take it from there. Hope we do though Cheers Al
  23. As mentioned at the Kent meet last night, here are details of the Bucket & Spade run: http://rommcc.org.uk/bucket%20and%20spade%20run.html I think you have to carry a plastic bucket & spade (as used on the beach for sandcastles!) I don't know if our cars qualify, so I will e-mail the ROMMCC and let you know Cheers Al
  24. Nice one Chris. Maybe you've highlighted a business opportunity sideline.........
  25. Glad you got it sorted out Al As Ian said, got to be a gold star for perseverance
