I'd say your doing a fine job it looks very nice and will be nice when you finish it to stand back and say wow I built that. We all have moments in our projects and hobbies where we think I cant be bothered any more but it passes and we go back to it, I say keep going and if you need some encouragement one day there are plenty of fab members only to willing to help.

Let's be honest here lol paying 2 to 3 grand for a donor Sierra takes all the fun out of it a bit. I've searched for days now and Sierras ent cheap. I've got a few more days yet to decide on this chassis. But I think it's going to be a Q plate build for me which I'm fine with. I'll get a list together with the help off you good people of what mechanics can be used on this chassis. Mx5 stuff maybe. Your all so helpful and have great knowledge of this kit car I'm glad to be part of such a pleasant club, Thank you all

I see the Mazda mx5 is more available and at a lower cost if these can be used it makes more sense to me. What plate the car ends up with is not a concern for me to be honest and I'm not looking to build this and complete it in a few months. I've never given up on projects and have always completed past car renovations. If I was in a rush I would buy a ready built car. This is going to be a project that I've always wanted to do and time not really an issue it's to keep me sane and occupied out of working hrs I'm a Auxiliary nurse and support worker, and my spare time is usually spent rebuilding my boat which is now finished. I'm hoping that even tho I may not finish building my hood I can still come to shows. As I've said in another post in my past I've restored an MG Midget from the ground up and I've built a Monty carlo mini but thay were 25 yes ago. Kit cars is new to me tho and I'm still trying to get my head around it all what I can use what I cant use what will fit in the chassis I'm looking at.

If I dont get a donor car am I right in saying it will need to be registered when finished. Looking at donor cars they average 2 to 3 grand. I was expecting 5 to 700 ha

Yes I've noticed a donor car is not going to be cheap. I've found this chassis and not sure what yo do.

Hi Chris I'm looking at possibly buying a 2b tube chassis and will be looking at finding a sierra donor what year should I be looking for all I no is they recommend an early one as the anti roll bar is of smaller diameter than a later model which is to heavy. Do I'm confused in what yr to look for Regards Jon

Hi Martin thank you I'm glad to be part or the club it's not the content of the video I found it very good to watch and can see it would help alot with my project, it was purely the quality of the video is very much below average. I watched all of them as I'm looking at buying a 2b chassis that comes with rear axle, bonnet, nose cone, fuel tank. Thanks to the video I could see how many panels I need to find to build it andi still cant seem to find where I would get them from. Regards Jon

Great info nelmo but font agree with the part in have all the money ready and not buy the parts as and when you need them. That's fine for the people that have 12 grand put by, in the past about 25yrs ago now I have restored a MG midget from the ground up and built a Monty carlo mini rally car. I've just finish a boat. And all done with buying the parts when I can afford them. A kit car will be a first for me and my only concern was sourcing the bits if I just bought a chassis as there are a few about. I would love yo find one like richy has mentioned that would be great for me and a great start price
