  1. Hi All, thinking ahead, who is thinking of taking the trip down to the national kit car show in Malvern in June?

Last year a group of us met in Warrington (can't remember the car park we met in!) and Ian did the best job ever and led the convoy directly to the venue, same again this year Ian? 😀 Some camped overnight, but all in all a fab time was had.

I am planning on making the trip but can only make the Saturday, setting of early 'ish, getting there viewing stands and cars, having a chat/ catching up and setting of back about 5pm 'ish.

    Let's hope for dry weather.

who's got it in their diary?

  2. Hi All, this Sunday sees the car meet at Charity Farm, Wrightington. I won’t be there am away with family, if any of you attend take some pictures especially of your car(s) amongst all the others. Details in the event calendar. Fingers crossed for a dry day, have fun everyone.

  3. Hi All,

looks like a dry day tomorrow (Sunday 24th March) maybe a bit chilly!!!

I am planning on having a drive out in the morning, only if sun shining and no chance of rain (both Alexa and the BBC say no rain, they have been known to be wrong before, lol)

Meet a Tickled Trout 1030am, out to Gisburn on the A59, A682, A65 brew at Goat gap cafe?, A687, A683, Quernmore, A6 south to the snack bar by Fowler Hill Lane - about 100 miles

    Any one else?

  4. Hi,

Last year I met a couple of guys with a RH at Charity Farm car meet on 02/04/23, we got chatting and one of their hobbies was track days at Oulton Park, they suggested we come down and watch the goings on and a chance for club members to get together. True to form I didn't get a number and my brain has filed somewhere safe the names!!!!

Are you out there gents, message me and we can progress this idea

    fingers crossed

    Darrell

  5. Hi All, I have started to put some dates in for a few car meets we could meet up at, see my message to the group for more info and thoughts for 2024.

Any drives out I plan will be in here, if you plan any put a time and meeting point on here and you may get some company.

    have fun

  6. I assume the question you are asking is - should I buy it?

may I make the following comments...

what's the reason they are selling it? can't seem see that other than garage space needed.

if it is registered correctly as a Robin Hood and the chassis and engine numbers match with the paperwork - that's a great sign

ask for the reg no - would be worth doing an MOT check on gov.uk etc

all the major parts seem to be there, you may need to source some bits and pieces to complete it.

I was always steered away from an unfinished project, because there was usually a reason it was unfinished possibly someone who had bitten off more than they could handle!!

If you are up for a challenge there are many positives, have a good look at the car - is it well made, cables/ pipes clipped neatly stuff like that may show some care and love has been put in it.

Only you can make the decision, hope this helps.

    have fun

    Darrell

  7. Hi All,

It is looking dry for Monday 9th October evening 👍

How about a 7.30pm meet up at B&Q Blackpool just off the M55 junction 4, then a ride through the illuminations, I will find a chippy that's open and a place to stop for a photo

let me know if you are coming so I know who to wait for

    looking forward to seeing you

Not one of our better months, but I guess it is to be expected as the season draws to a close.  Twelve members did not renew. However, the good news is we received seven new members.   So we welcome:

  9. Hi All,

Anyone fancy a trip through the famous Blackpool illuminations and a bag of chips and a chat?

We did one last year but in December, dry but cold and we just caught the chippy before it shut!!!

It would be a last minute 'ish' notice to fit in with the weather maybe a Monday or Wednesday in October.

Last time we met at 7.30pm at B&Q Blackpool drove through the lights, didn't stop to take a photo by the tower (will rectify that this year!!!) and had some chips (may need to find an open one before the trip)

    Let me know

Another month gone by, and this one was fairly quiet compared with previous months, although still showing the same pattern.  Only 32 members were up for renewal and 24 of them stayed with us.  To balance that we had 5 new members join us:

  11. Hi All,

Well that was an interesting day, in a great way and very different.

Five Club mates met up today (13/08/23) at the NT car park, Alderley Edge, parked in reserved parking places, chatted about our cars/ weather/ etc before the rain drove us to the mining museum where Phil showed us around explaining and amazing us with his knowledge of the area and the copper mining operations that have been in evidence for thousands of years. We then donned hard hats and made our way to one of the mines to have a look round, it was a 'hole' too far for me!! But the other intrepid explorers ventured deep under ground.

A great venue for future club meets with chance to see the mines, have a drive out from there as a club (need a local club member to use their knowledge for this) or just have a chat over a brew at the nearby tea room (something we didn't get round to today) One for next year me thinks.

I have included a selection of photos I took and I know others took some so more to follow.

Thanks to Steve (Foz), Nathaniel (GambolGold), Ian (IanS), Phil (phil lilley) for a great club meet up.

    Here's to the next one

Better today, we managed 5 cars.   And there were a few more on the other stands as well, but nowhere near as many as normal.  I think people were put off by yesterday, and anyone from the North was still drowning 😀   Better luck next year.#
