  1. Thanks I will Jack it up this morning and have a good look, but when I looked earlier there was only the cable disappearing through the sloping panel?
  2. Hi I have just got around to replacing/repairing my broken handbrake cable. The problem I have is that I did not build the car so I am unsure of where and how to get at it? I thought that the access would be underneath the boot/storage area, but I have stripped it all that down only to find there is no access or signs of the handbrake cable or fittings. There also does not appear to be any access via the central tunnel, what am I missing here? Many thanks for any pointers, CAF (Chris)

    S7 Handbrake Cable

I have taken a few pics but it does not tell you much. I have taken off the break drum and found that cable is broken where the nipple that holds the cable in place on the brake shoe. As I did not build the car not quite sure how easy this is going to be to get at the handbrake cable.
  5. Just pulled up my Robin Hood S7 handbrake and the cable snapped. Please advise of the best place to get a replacement, also what is the parts number? The donor car was a Sierra. Thanks
  6. Hi Guys Just got my Robin Hood S7 1997 back on the road for the summer. I was amazed to find that the road tax is now £325, it's petrol with a Sierra 1993cc Pinto engine, nothing else special. Is this correct or am I missing something?
  7. Sorry guys cannot make it, as we have long awaited visitors that day. Have a good run.
  8. Good news, well done.
  9. Hi I have at present the standard Sierra mechanical fuel pump and are looking to fit a new electrical pump. Any suggestions on type, fitting and necessary wiring requirements would be appreciated.
  10. If I use Easy Start it will start straight away and keep going, surly if it was fuel starvation it would cut out again almost instantly after firing up? I am almost sure its a mechanical fuel pump, but I will check.
  11. I have always had a bit of a problem starting my Robin Hood S7, but normally if its with in 7 to 10 days it will start eventually (turns over for ages before firing up), I have a original Ford/Weber 2V post 1985 carburettor (2.0 litre) with automatic choke could this be the problem? If I start the car after 1 or 2 days it only needs half a turn and its going. I live in Dorset and have looked around for a Weber specialist to discuss this with, but have had no luck. I am sure I have read the Weber auto chokes can be a big problem? Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Fuel Tank Leak

Thanks for your suggestions, I think a plate Araldited to top with a hole the size of the pipe could be the best solution?

    Fuel Tank Leak

Having now unbuilt the rear of the car to get to the fuel tank, I can see that the fuel sender/ pick up pipe is where the leak is coming from. The weld/solder is not sealing the pipe to the top of the unit, it appears that when the guy built this car 1997, he also had that problem and sealed it with a silicon type material, which I am sure was not the right solution , but it last a few years! Could anybody suggest a suitable solution, I really do not want to have to take the unit out as I am sure that will then cause further problems, which are nor easily solved in our current Corvid-19 situation. Please see attached photo, thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Fuel Tank Leak

My car has been off the road for 6 months, so I thought it was time I should think about getting her back on the road again (inline with the corona virus rules, shopping only). First I had a leak to the carburettor, so I fitted a new fuel pipe, OK now. Then when around the car with the engine running I noticed a fuel leak at the rear of the car, seem to be running down the tank. I have not yet investigated further due to weather and as I did not build the car am not sure what I should be looking for. The car is a Robin Hood S7 and was built in 1997, I had a look in the manual supplied with car, but that does not say more than couple of paragraphs about the fuel tank . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Sorry cannot make this weekend, but could be interested in future get togethers.
