  1. Sounds like they sent you the wrong one as you need a make on rise not a break on rise , or did you get it from you local fridge man as they use them. Mike
  2. Read these DVLA guide lines and see if you fit into any of the allowed categories. http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leaflets/...%20guidance.pdf Many moons ago our boss would only allow his employees to use them, at that time i think there where 2 types a limited and unlimited plate. One had a triangular box on top with the DVLA Cert and the other a rectangle box so to distinguish between the two types , no idear what they do today though. Mike
  3. Agni Motors not just one of the best , now The best, First eBike TT winner , thanks to Cedric Lynch the motors inventor and his Indian partners. I remember well whilst i was an apprentice i pestered my Forman for ages to let me wire up a 3 Phase motors windings that had been laid flat together with its core for display purposes , he refused saying i was stupid, a year or so later someone did just that and the linear motor was born, to say i was really sick is an understatement. Mike
  4. Agni motors are supposed to be one of the best for electric bikes scooters etc http://www.agnimotors.com/home/index.php?o...e&Itemid=47 Lots of good info on controllers in the FAQ section I have been looking into building and eBike, or may even convert one of my old ones , not decided as yet as just weighing up the parts needed and what bits i have already got as i seem to remember that i should have a controller somewhere , but where is my biggest problem these days. Mike
  5. From what i can see on the QH downloadable catalogue all the MK1 1.6 Capri's use the CCT 133 , where as the MK2's are split between the CCT132 & CCT133 . The downloadable catalogue looks to be very useful, plus VRM & VIN checks can be carried out for a wee fee ofcause. Mike

    Wish Bone Alignment

Seeing as the wishbone bushes pivot on the same axis i would try fitting a piece of round bar through the brackets to align them up first, so that no excesive stress is applied to the wishbone bushes once fitted. Mike
  7. Has anyone got any Roadster 7s handy so as to measure the seat fixing bolt spacings for me, as i am having a pair of Triton seats made and require them to fit on the runners that the Roadster loving Rats have had a field day with, now i have 2 dead Roadsters, they will be comming off when the new seats arrive, i just need to give them the correct spacings so that they will fit straight on to my runners without having to do any mods. I have done a lot of searching but cant find anything , nothing on the Cobra web site either. Mike
  8. I have the new type hood fitted to my S7 the dimensions from the bottom of the screen inside to the rear outer boot area is 1640mm, 5' 4 1/2" approx top of the screen front to the rear outer boot area is 1550mm, 5' 1". approx Sometime ago when i rebuilt mine the screen had been fitted further forward (no hood needed as car was built & used for hill climbs) so i had to bring it back to fit , i found the so called magic approx measurements somewhere or other of which i cant remember fully now but they where not far from the measurements quoted above. I fitted the hood rear poppers first , then screen fittings after lightly fitting the frames without tension, the side rear poppers need to be fitted so as to allow the side window to be flat when under final tension , the doors last when hood fully tensioned so as to get a good fit on the velcro and under the top seal. Hope this helps a little . Mike

    Rear Fog Lamp

Nigel if you turn them Diodes the other way they will be correct , as the arrow head points in the direction of + flow , the white marking on the diode body is on the - Neg end, Hope this helps somewhat . The 1N4001 is suitable for most low voltage (50v) circuits with a current of less than 1A. An 1N5401 is suitable for 100v circuits with a current of less than 3A. Mike

    Rear Fog Lamp

As Nigel has just mentioned a pair of diodes (IN4001)is the simplest option cheap too as about 20p each from Maplins, one in each leg (main & dip) and both joined together feeding the Fog light relay coil , Mike

    Cb Radio

A while ago i got a good deal on an Intek H-520 Plus (dual band) handheld together with an Alan MA 35 headset (bikers use these ) both work well together and easy to move from car to car etc , they are not cheap new though , i just plug it into external aerial thats on a quick release mount . Comes with Power adapter to fit cigarette lighter socket. Its handy to put in your pocket to prevent those scrotes nicking it too. Mike
  15. I added another stainless box just infront ,( it just slots onto the standard pipe work) made it a lot quieter on tickover but still sounds nice whilst driving , plus i can arrive home without a headache and ringing ears. Mike

    Google Earth

My Tin Top is on there but the S7 is hideing under cover, it looks like the pic was taken in the summer of last year , i wonder how often they update them pics, if they take more this year it will definately show up. Mike
  18. In days gone by many cars had hidden aerials under the car but that was way before FM , you could use the film strip type that sticks to the windscreen, never used them though, as i use a quick release aerial mount at the rear Bosch do a neat windscreen Fm ( Bosch Auto fun Pro ) aerial i am told that many car restorers are useing them on there cars nowadays. Also the Blaupunkt Autofun car radio windscreen antenna can be found on ebay for just over £20. Mike
  19. Hi Paul, welcome to the fold of smiling Hoodies. Mike

  21. Just a thought on this , does the central locking process automaticaly close the windows by any chance , if so it could possibly be a contact /switch problem around that area. Mike
  22. In 1971 i came home on 2 weeks sick leave with broken ribs from Denmark, on monday i bought a Lotus 7 S4 in kit form , it arrived on Friday built by Wednesday , post build check Thursday , Taxed and regestered on Friday , booked Harwich ferry for Sunday arrived Esberg Monday morning and back to work for 8o'clock , 4 weeks later nice drive down to Rotterdam in the rain 2 up with luggage (brief cases only as cases went by train ), 4 weeks later a blast down to Stuttgart and back to Bonn , all was well tested by this time as the 1600cc Twin cam never missed a beat and stuck to the road like a cow pat. Total cost of car was £1600, including ally wheels, c/r gearbox , heater etc. Mike
  23. Any good local fab shop with a pipe bender should be able to make you one to your measurements and spec. Mike
  24. Sounds like we have have an ex stock car driver amongst us , i must admit that i agree totaly , reverse the grid , best at the back , let the battle begin. Mike
  25. Not as far as i can see as they are quite long anyway, but may even come in various lengths and thickness. As these are http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/50-cleco-aircraft-sk...%3A1%7C294%3A50 You will need the Cleco pliers too. Mike
