  1. It sounds like you don't have the standard 2B dummy struts. These do have the pin angled relative to the main diameter that goes in the hub.
  2. This is a list of the standard parts including those ball joints. https://nw.rhocar.org/parts.htm Check the angular position of the dummy strut in the hub, this will affect the angle of the top ball joint pin
  3. Tbh, looking at the bracket I'm surprised it lasted that long. It looks like the sort of quick prototype I'd make in thin metal before making the proper one in something sturdy.
  4. Next Wednesday (30th) , 7PM onwards, Malt Shovel Pub, Coventry Road, Nr Stonebridge, Coventry, CV7 7HL Entrance to the pub car park is off the A452 Chester Road heading North 50 yards from the island. See you there.

    Q plate

Adrian Flux and Heritage Insurance both support the club, they'd be worth speaking to. Generally there's no best option for insurance as it depends on you own specific requirements / circumstances.
  9. @Dcr88k24 Daniel, as you're a new member in the North East, would you be interested in attending this event?
  10. February is a short month, but we're not short on new members. Welcome along to the following people: Stuart M stuart49 Derby David L D2LHR Kirkaldy Paul B paulddbossons Macclesfield Daniel C Dcr88k24 Southport Robert C Soupstone Lanark Russell F Russell Flemming Boston Richard H RichardH St Leonards on Sea Brian S Brian Smith Rugby Michael M Michael Montague Sleaford Remember to post your approximate location on the members map here, it helps people see who else is in their local area and is a good way to encourage members to get in touch with one another. Also a reminder that we have a wide range of merchandise available, featuring the club logo (top left corner of his page) which has the car in a choice of orange, yellow, purple, blue or green. 11. If your donor engine number doesn't match the one on the V5 then the V5 won't be any use and you'd have to register it on a Q plate. A 2B isn't a quick or easy car to build but as you've got 4 years to do it, it should be possible. All the info you'll ever need is here on the forum, you just need to be determined and stick with it - actually finishing and getting through IVA is strangely rewarding.
  12. If it's mapped properly it should be ok. If it's not been mapped, you're probably going to fail on emissions.
  13. Leave it until after IVA or you'll never get the car finished. Sliding pillar conversion has been widely covered before, have a read through some of these threads: https://www.rhocar.org/index.php?/search/&q="pillar conversion"&search_and_or=or The GBS comes with instructions, if you could get hold of a set of these, it would be a good starting point.

For the life of me I can't see why people make their own looms unless they're some kind of masochist with too much time on their hands. Looms are available off the shelf, if you hit problems there's no shortage of people to ask for advice and the time it'll save can be spent finishing off other things on the car. btw, I'm someone who's spent many hours sorting out other people's shi**y kit car wiring.
