  1. Mark. When I was researching for the duratec the me221 was the version that did the usual Ecu stuff with a built in vvt controller and lambda control too.

It also did some other stuff too That I didn’t need.

I went down the the route of microsquirt but might be worth speaking to Stu (the duck). Mega squirt might be a route to consider and he knows his stuff on them.

Hi the duratec needs the Mazda gearbox it's a different bolt pattern to a type 9

The type 9 fits a zetec

You can buy adapter plates to make the type 9 fit the duratec.  Might be cheaper and easier depending on what the overall plan it.  I went the mx5 route but it is not 100% straight forward as you need to change starters clutches and flywheel to all match and does and Mazda parts not work together.

  3. Hi Dan. I did the same before my Iva a few years ago. The emissions were ok after a bit of a fiddle but also used the brake rollers to try and bed in the brakes as they were new parts.

It was useful but the car still failed the brake test on the rear drums along with a few other bits.

My local garage is at the end of my road and is a guy I use regularly so he knew of the car and what I was trying to do.

‘MOT’ is worth doing if it can be done legally but won’t high light or fix all issues. Rolling road is the only sure way on emissions and then performance.

    Good luck with the IVA

  4. Hi

Send me a PM with your email (the file is too big to attach to the post) and I can send over the premier loom instructions what has all the fuse ratings per circuit.

According to my information the horn and brake lights are on different fuse boxes?  They are both 15a fuses though.

    Cheers

    Steve
