  1. A bit bored at lunch time so did a bit of trawling on the internet and found my old RH..which has ended up down south. Good to see she's still in good running order...shocked to see that its an appreciating classic ...I did well getting £5.5K for a sliding pillar in 2013 so £7k now is pretty good going, and only covered 1500 miles since I sold it. https://www.audivwsales.co.uk/used-cars/robin-hood-project-2b-melksham-201711081064987 Always nice to see your own handiwork after so many years.
  2. Yes, would suggest you make one. I bought the one from GBS some year ago (may be different now though) which was a few bits of fibre glass which was really poor fit, so ended up making a boot box from some 6mm ply (painted ply with gloss black paint to seal it, and lined with carpet) Used the same ply to fit 2 side rear panels (cut around the roll cage) and a central boot lid, all covered with the leatherette PVC material. I used poppers around the edges to fasten the side panels to the chassis rear boot rail
  3. Hi and welcome You dont need to worry. If its built well then you probablyl wont get more smiles per £ Hoods are definitely not the easiest kits to build as nothing fitted properly. They were the budget build which opened up the 7 kit car scene to the ordinary guy. If its been built well and registered correctly should be nothing to really worry you. Plenty of people here to assist. Values are really tricky. It all depends on build quality spec etc.. For a good 2b between £3-5K... They dont tend to loose value unlike normal cars. Usually quite a few on eBay and Piston heads
  4. In Germany again guys, so a no show from me again....
  5. Yes I dont live a boring life lol, and that was 12 mths ago....
  6. Keep positive mate. It got me through the tough times and Im still going strong 4 years on...... bloody hell where did those years go?
  7. Yes I guess it would be possible as they pretty much use the same donor parts. Reckon 80-90% of parts should be transferable without too much hassle. The Duck or any other S7 builder willl be able to say for definate. I think only a few iyems would not be transferable.
  8. Hi If you are building from pretty much from Scratch then the 2B should get through IVA without any major issues providing you build within the IVA manual recommendations (you can always change back to what you actually want after IVA!) Plus much easier to submit the car without a windscreen for the test...Again this can be fitted after. The only real issue I had was that they stated the lower seat belt moiunts eeded to be further back than what the 2B was designed fr, so I had to make a slight modification to move these. With regards the Sliding pillar, providing you do them correctly and follow some guidelines that I have previously posted (search my posts for sliding pillar) then these should perform pretty good. However if you have the chassis at a stripped down stage it might be worth considering doing a wishbone upgrade (GBS can supply this but quite expensive if I recall). This will transform the cars handling. Don't let this put you off however as a well set up sliding pillar arrangement can still perform pretty well (mine put a few modern wish boned cars to shame at timed sprints a few years back). Good luck with the build.
  9. Sorry guys bit too far for me to travel this time... sat on beach in Malaysia. See you next mth hopefully
  10. One good thing on the 5.5 litre V8AMG is road tax only £280. Some clever trickery with shutting down to 4 cylinders below 30 or low revs.... one of the few cheapish things for this car. But not bad for a monster
  11. Hi Richard pm CMA (Rob), he may be able to help out...
  12. We wont need cars by then HS2 might be up and running...that will of course solve all the UK's travel issues
  13. I had agreed value on my Cobra with Adrian Flux. Unfortunately a man in a white Van man decided he didn't like cobra's and used his van as a road block before setting fire to the cobra....all I was left with was a box of ash's and some knackered knees. Whilst I was busy recovering in Hospital, A.Flux took just 2 weeks to have agreed value in my bank account, no hassles, no worries. So for me it worked out really well. However my solicitor made the valid point that the agreed value is the value agreed at the time of taking out the insurance, so if you make modifications or improvements to the car which may increase the value after taking out the insurance then you can claim for this separately (as long as you have receipts etc). PS anyone have reciepts for an LS3, Nitrous kits etc etc
  14. No can do....going to the pain doctor..Physio
  15. Should be there with the beast....oops I mean The missus and driving the beast
  16. Thanks all. Had a run down to Bristol yesterday.....what a great drive. Steady 28 mpg so happy chappy. Got frazzled by the sun though. Must buy a new cap as last one was a victim of the Cobra incident.
  17. Think I might just chop off my right foot Bob..gave her some welly yesterday, just to see what she sounded like was doing less than 15mpg So nice and steady goes it
  18. Hi All As most of you were aware, I had a bit of a run in with a Van back in December which resulted in my beloved Cobra being destroyed in a ball of flame and me breaking both Knees quite badly.....so time for an update. 6 months have now passed since the accident. The Van driver has been prosecuted by police and has a hefty fine and a bunch of points as well as having to do a drivers awareness course. Me well I'm actually walking around now pretty much unaided apart from needing a stick to walk around outside and to fend off the missus 6 months off work, there is only so much Jeremy Kyle and Judge Rinder a man can take....(although I start back part time next week) A few weeks ago I started to drive again, which is a big step for me. So that immediately started the car itch again.....Missing the Cobra I have been looking around for a while and Cobra prices have gone interstellar in the past 12 months. Also not seen one which yet ticks all the boxes. So whilst looking and after getting my ear bent by the missus, felt it was time to perhap's try something a tad more civilized. So here it is, all 5.5 Litres of it , my new toy Mercedes SLK55 AMG Bit more practicle than a Cobra, fantastic engine note and performance, similar appetite for fuel, semi auto gearbox so easy for me to drive with knackered knees and it keeps the other half happy......however I still want a project car to tinker with, so have now convinced SWMBO that a track car is the way to go...so now keeping my eye out in the coming months for a track beast as well....happy days Oh...and before anyone else mentions it, the Hairdressors scissors were a £2000 Option so decided against them
